Reviews
The food was phenomenal — every dish was cooked to perfection, and the Tomahawk steaks were a highlight: tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The wine and beer selection complemented the meal perfectly.
Highly recommend this restaurant for any special occasion or fine-dining experience. They made our celebration unforgettable.
Don’t forget to make reservations ahead of time
Great service! Everyone is very kind and eager to assist, and even signed a birthday card!
There were four people in my party. We were greeted by two friendly hostesses and immediately sat in the lux dining room. Our server was also very pleasant. We decided to eat family style. We ordered 2 Delmonico Ribeyes (one with smoked blue cheese), caesar salad, the sauce trio, potato puree, truffle mac and cheese, and the broccoli.
Wins:
– The meal started with the complimentary fries. I personally did not like them because they are not served hot, but the rest of the party enjoyed them and the three dipping sauces.
– The salad was well dressed and was enough for three of us to share.
– We also enjoyed the wine, coffee, and dessert. They had a nice variety of after dinner drinks.
– Overall, the wait staff was attentive and friendly.
– The ambiance is beautiful with soft lighting and comfortable seating.
Cons:
– It took our entrees and sides forever to come out. We ordered at 7:35 and it was at least an hour before our entrees were served.
– When we ordered they asked if we wanted our steaks sliced, we said no… both came sliced anyway.
– The steaks were not cooked to the requested temperatures and were warm, not hot.
– All of our sides were cold. Not warm, COLD!
– The manager was rude and condescending. When she came to our table she stated, “I’m sorry your food was not as hot as you would like it.” No, they were cold and definitely should have never been brought out of the kitchen. The serving dishes were not even warm. This was unacceptable especially for the level of service and quality you expect when dining here. Additionally, she never came back out to ask how we liked everything that was re-prepared.
Our steaks were warmed and new sides were brought out, but the food issues completely ruined what should have been a celebration. By the time everything came back out we were tired and ready to go. I would not recommend this steakhouse. Considering our check was over $400, the food quality should have been superior, but missed the mark. Additionally, we did not receive the level of service expected from management. Save your money and try another steakhouse. This is not a steakhouse I would go to again or recommend.
We tried the bone marrow with garlic toast, great combination! Love it! Australia Wagyu in medium rare, the meat tender and moist. The Kagoshima Wagyu which is not in the menu. Good to try but too much fat for me
The service was friendly and sincere. Really deserve your big tips.
I highly suggest making a reservation. Parking was easiest at the Americana parking garage and then we just walked to the restaurant. They validate.
We booked bourbon steak for the family thanksgiving dinner, because my father and I went few weeks ago to have some steak and was delicious. But after the experience tonight I would not recommend this place anymore to anyone until they change management.
The food and waitress/sommeliar service were decent, which is as expected in a Michael Mina restaurant. This is why the service still gets 1 star.
However, the management, especially the two lady managers in the front, were horrendous. They do not care about the business or the customers.
We originally have a reservation at 7PM for our Thanksigivng dinner on the Thanksigiving day. This was a fully prepaid experience on Thanksgiving. We arrived at 7PM sharp, and were told there were no available table yet, but something should be available shortly. We thought that is okay, let’s wait for a little bit. 20 minutes later, still nothing, and during this 20 minutes literally no one checked in on us, not the front desk, not the managers, they just left us there standing and waiting. We were being patient, but is this a good reason to just ignore us? or is it because we are a group of Asian, so it is okay to do so, because asians are more polite and patient, so why not take advantage? I will let you decide on this. At 7:20PM we finally began to question what is going on? The front desk kept on saying we will check for you, but really nothing happend, and they again ignored us. At 7:30PM, we asked to speak to the manager, this was the first moment the manger showed up, and the answer was “although we asked the earlier party to stick to a 2 hour dining limit, no one is respecting it.” So again we ask you to wait. 7:40PM same answer, finally 7:50PM, 1 table becomes available and they finally seated us.
I understand overbooking sometimes can be an issue, it can happen to the best of the restaurants. It is the way how they handle the issue after making customer waited for 50 minutes after full pre-payment, is simply unacceptable. Managers did not care at all, during this 50 minute period, neither of the manager bothered to show up to even check in on us. They hide behind the front desk staff, and only after we asked for the manager 30 minutes after the original time, they came but clearly did not give a crap, offered no solution, and just let us sit and wait. So are the table before us more valuable customer? and we simply just deserve to wait? on a pre-paid dinner? So many questions, which I doubt they care to understand and find out.
After we were seated. They sent some cheap prosecco pretending to be champagne and said this is our apology, on the house. Funny how one waiter said prosecco, and the other quickly changed to oh its champagne, as if it matters at that point. What an absolute joke of service this is. Who cares even if this is a bottle of Dom P2, at this point, we waited 50 minutes on a pre-paid dinner experience. Where is the manager? Be a leader of your team, show up when things become tough and offer a formal apology and make up the already ruined experience by giving some extra attention and care during the service to somehow lightening up the mood of your guests. Nobody cares of some cheap prosecco or champagne. But they again hide behind the waiters and waitresss and sommeliar. Just hide, and pretend this didn’t happen. An absolutely disrespectful act, classless. If I own this business, I would fire these managers tomorrow and put someone else who actually cares about the business and customer in charge.
A thanksgiving experience to completely forget.
The corkage fee is slightly higher than other steakhouses at $50, but totally worth it if you don’t plan to order from their cocktail or wine menu. They do have a deal that if you buy one of their bottles, they will open yours for free.
Overall, this is a great place tucked away from the hustle of L.A. City to take in a premium steakhouse experience.
