n July 2004 Will Pieratt and Kevin Heathcoat took a huge leap of faith and opened Bourbon n’ Toulouse by maxing out seven credit cards and simply hoping things worked out for the best. The business plan was simple: cook some damn good food, give back to the community that help keep their lights on and have as much fun as the law allows! Fifteen years later these guys are still extremely passionate about what they do and they haven’t grown up a bit, just ask their wives! Always cooking and laughing, these guys are serious about having fun. Stop in and sample the wide array of tasty Cajun and Creole dishes, grab a beer from the ever changing selection and drift away to their own little version of The French Quarter.

I came by today for a late lunch since I’ve heard so many things about this place from coworkers and people whom I’ve met from Lexington. The interior is a funky vibe, and lots of decoration on every wall and corner of this place; there are plenty of tables and seats if you want to dine. As for me, I ordered takeout to eat in my car (lol). [I brought my dog with me, and I hate leaving him in the car or sitting outside since it is much hotter today compared to the last few days’ weather].

The food is great. I ask for light rice because I want more of the actual meal and less rice. My son loves to just order a loaf of bread because the bread is fantastic it has a seasoned butter on it. They do not have dessert which is why they are a four star. Sometimes they have cookies but we’ve never seen any. It seems like if it’s a Cajun restaurant, the obvious dessert is peanut butter pie. However there is no desserts usually at all. The inside of the restaurant is sort of shabby. I think it’s supposed to be some sort of style but it just looks sort of dirty to me. We always get our food to go. They do have tables outside which I would recommend if I were eating there.

3 or 4th time going to BnT for Fat Tuesday(busiest night of the year). First time at this new location. Major upgrade to waiting area over the other location. The team tonight ran the dinner rush with cool heads and chipper attitudes. Hats off to them for a great experience! Jambalaya and Gumbo were great and the King Cake sealed the deal. Love this little piece of NOLA in Lex.

I came here for a door dash order while I was dashing and just HAD TO COME BACK & I was NOT disappointed. Firstly, the staff? Amazing people. Super welcoming. Fastest service I’ve ever had! I tried the half chicken etouffee and half jambalaya & my man tried the gumbo. All of it was DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!! HOT & DELICIOUS! Try their hot sauces too! I recommend 100000000x over!
