I haven’t been to Boston Market in ages but I had a coupon so decided to give it a go. When I arrived I parked in their lot and walked in. I was served by Marie which was super quick with taking my order and payment. The place looked like I remembered. I ordered the 3 piece dark and 2 sides of rice and corn. It wasn’t too bad price wise with the coupon. When I got to the car I ate real quick and I wasn’t too pleased. The rice was nasty, the corn was ok, the cornbread was dry and the chicken was the only thing that was tasty. I won’t be back for a long time.

To the owner: You need to sell your franchise because you are ruining Boston Markets name! The restaurant is so outdated and bare, most the sodas are out of order and no hot sauce? How the hell do you not stock hotsauce. This place had gone downhill for years and shame on me for coming back here, food is old looking and not very hot!! I would never step foot is this location again! Patel owns this place and thats all i need to say!

Once the best chicken and home cooked-style restaurant in the area, but food quality and facility cleanliness has declined. Tables and lobby needs to be maintained consistently (no reason for overflowing trash bins, uncleaned tables and floors during low volume periods). Roasted chicken is still quite good, but sides are often too watery (potatoes), too mushy (spinach), or have an excessive amount of oil (green beans, carrots). If the team can get their hands in control of these issues, this Boston Market restaurant can quickly return to AAA in quality, service and cleanliness.

Poor customer service! Drive the extra miles and go to the one in Edison. They have excellent customer service.

Employees weren’t welcoming, waited several minutes to take our order, all the food was luke warm, no reciept was provided. I am writing this about 90 minutes after eating, and now have explosive diarrhea. This location has gone downhill, avoid at all costs!

I visited the Avenel location on August 17 at 7:11. I ordered two spicy chicken nugget meals with drinks. After arriving home almost a half an hour later I saw that both meals were signature chicken and not spicy. I contacted the restaurant and spoke with the manager and she informed me that if I come in the next day that she would replace both meals in its entirety. I returned the next day to receive the correct meals and I was informed by another manager that he was only going to replace the chicken. As far as I’m concerned the customer is always right. Secondly it was the employee who messed up my order. Thirdly gas is too expensive to be traveling almost 25 minutes to get it ordered that should’ve been right the first time. Lastly managers need to convey to other managers what was said in regards to what the customer is owed when the order is wrong. I am very disappointed with this location and management.

I remember when this place (Avenel, NJ) was good. The last 2 times (one time bad, I decide to give it another try) the food was horrible. The “grilled” nuggets looked uncooked and were slimy. The mashed potatoes were crusty and obviously old. The vegetables were the only thing sort of edible.

raised prices on thanksgiving, shame on them, profiteering only one meal you could have so you had no choice, served $18 lunch sized portion turkey dinner. Served on a cheap looking TV dinner plate. Made my Thanksgiving even worse thinking about this, they didn’t even give you a real plate so it felt like I was eating a decent meal. I guess it’s the way of the world now small run of the mill meal for the highest price possible. Who cares about customer expirence, they just want the money aparently.

Dry chicken, overcooked noodles, tasted like sadness. Mashed potatoes and gravy were ok.
