The restaurant is located in the marina with beautiful views. That’s where the goodness ends. They don’t take reservations, they say “first come first served” that is of course unless you have a large party. It’s false advertising as we had 11 family members and were there well before parties of 4 and 5 who were seated and served and left before we even got a table. We were told initially it was 30 mins. Then it was another 20 mins. Then it was “oh the table we have to fit you just got dessert”. So at an hour waiting outside in the heat and humidity we asked to be seated separately. When we were finally seated upstairs at a 7 and 4 table top. It was now 8 pm and they close at 9 pm. There were two other tables not yet cleaned that could have easily accommodated all of us! It took another 10 mins to get water at which point we ordered everything at once drinks, apps and main meal. The service was horrible! Drinks forgotten; had to ask for bread 4 times even though the 7 top got theirs; orders wrong or completely forgotten. Simple things like mayonnaise and mustard or no bread. This is not rocket science. The excuse, we’re busy. You’re one of only 3 restaurants open on Fripp Island in the middle of summer! Then the audacity, they billed us as a party of 11 even though we were at 2 separate tables and each family was paying separately, so they could put the automatic gratuity on the bill!! Do not come here with more than a party of 4 and plan to spend $15 per drink and more than $45 for a steak. The food was not worth the aggravation.

Great service and Great food. The stuffed flounder was great.. the sauce was really good. The boathouse ribeye and fried shrimp was done better than expected. The shrimp/crab pasta was really good too. For desert, the butter cake was delicious!

We had a large group with reservations and were seated fairly quickly in the upstairs area. What a beautiful view! The service was attentive by the server but the kitchen forgot items. I had ordered a wedge salad ($15) along with my fish taco entree and it didn’t come. The waiter checked on it and brought it when I was about finishing my meal. Two others in our group had similar issues with various foods. The food was OK, but not anything I’d recommend. Fripp Island has very limited dining options and having a captive customer base affects the quality of food in my opinion. If you’re looking for something on island, this is probably your best option. Prices are a bit high, but inline for a resort restaurant. Make certain you have a Fripp Island amenity card or you’ll be refused service.

We stopped here for late night drinks. Although we can’t speak to the food, we were surprised that the drink prices seemed realistic! The drinks were also much better than any other drinks we’d had in other locations around the island: they were actually “made” rather than being mostly poured from some kind of mix. Definitely a nice view and spot for a quality, late night cocktail.

The server was great at the beginning, but then she forgot about us. We had to wait a long, long time to get more water. Then, waited more to get the check. It was not as good as before. They don’t have wings or shrimp tacos more They have fish tacos but not shrimp.

We loved the location right by the water. We had about a 10 minute wait. We got our drinks fast, they were delicious. Tried the she crab soup—absolutely delicious! I had a scallop primavera special, my husband had the rib eye, both were fabulous. We will definitely be back. The waitress was nice and fast. She could have checked on us a bit more but overall we enjoyed our experience.

Our family wanted to come here and check it out since we’d never been before— we sadly won’t be coming back. I have a lot of patience for servers (as I understand firsthand) but ours forgot multiple side and drink orders, gave us 3 sets of silverware for a party of 8, barely checked in with us, and generally seemed uninterested in our table at all. If it were busier, I’d understand, but we waited for an hour between apps and food. The atmosphere was beautiful, with very nice views upstairs. Once our food finally came, my flounder was flavorless and my side pasta was lukewarm if not cold. I sadly would not recommend going unless you’re willing to spend $30+ per person on mid-tier food.

On the water bar and dining room next to a marina. Menu was just recently changed, to a pricey, weird vibe that does not match the overall restaurant. They removed some favorites and doubled prices. The bar is small and loud, but the service and drinks are great

I’ve been coming on a trip to Fripp island for 5+ years now and this is by far the worst dining experience we’ve had. From forgotten orders, cold shrimp, and the (in my opinion) embarrassing “Carolina paprika chicken” (can we not come up with a better name?) dish pictured below for $25. For the private lifestyle the island promotes this restaurant simply needs new management.
