Friendly host team, very trendy and electric environment in downtown Celina with decor from various artists and themes. There was also a live music artist which was very nice.

We recently moved to the area and have been excited to try Bongo Beaux’s. It’s hard to find a good Cajun restaurant that is not a chain. This was some of the best Cajun food I’ve ever had.

Tried something new on the square. Very simple menu. Great service. Lots of atmosphere! I like that there is a lot of space between other tables. In the future I would book a table ahead/ make a reservation. It wasn’t as cool being close to the door because it was just a little bit warmer but it’s August in Texas so it’s understandable. For sure will be back!

This was our first time in Celina and we are so happy we picked this place. Food was delicious, portions very generous. Mitchell was super friendly and helpful. Crawfish queso, Cajun pasta and drowning catfish were our picks and those meals are definitely worth trying!

The peel and eat shrimp was very flavorful. Get the lemon pepper and habanero sauce. It lit me on fire for sure. The side salad had amazing ranch. The shrimp tacos were too salty, the reason for the missing star. The service was great such friendly people! I would go back.

My husband and I were just driving through town when we spotted this super fun place and just had to stop. The atmosphere and food are incredible. There’s also a great outdoor patio and fenced yard for kids! Our server, Jacob, was super attentive and helpful. Highly highly recommend this delicious authentic Cajun restaurant!!

We first went for Cajun Fest and our server was CJ, also known as Bubba. We had a great experience, so I chose to come back for a celebration of my final day as a teacher. When we asked to change tables bc we ordered more food than would fit on a high top, the male hostess (longer hair, didn’t catch his name), told us he would take care of us, and helped us move all our things. Granted, this sounds easy enough, but the restaurant was packed and on a wait. Robert served us. Like Bubba, he sat down with us and took our order, asked us about our day and if we had been here before. He was jovial, and had such a great demeanor, engaging and top tier communication skills. I had to ask him where he learned to be so engaging and reach people’s interest. He said his mom taught him to always look at everyone you’re talking to, so they know you are talking directly to them. I didn’t ask Bubba or the host about their background, as it seems that each has their own signature charisma, but all have what must be a hiring trait for Bongo Beaux’s – the ability to draw people in and make you feel like your friend just arrived to sit down with you.

I was so excited for local Cajun food but man, this missed the mark. The crawfish queso was so thin, it fell off the chips. The crawfish was at the bottom. The flavor was good though. The crawfish fried pies were dry and flavorless. They needed a sauce inside the filling. The dipping hot sauce they came with was too sweet and all you could taste if you used it. The same sauce was on the Bongeaux’s Bread and completely overpowered the dish. Catfish was good but etoufee had chunky rice. Disappointed. On the upside, the food came out quickly and the atmosphere was fun and whimsical. Without any redeeming food though, we won’t be going back.

Fantastic find! Old Town Celina funky spot with best Cajun food I’ve ever had! Including in ‘Nawlins. Wonderful staff too. Vanessa was a fantastic waitress and we were able to learn a lot about the area from Tabatha. What a spot! Great cocktails too, including hurricanes. What friendly people! Our new favorite spot. We are new to TX from DC.
