Reviews
This was my first time at Bonchon Woodlawn, and I was so impressed. The food was amazing—crispy, flavorful Korean fried chicken that definitely lived up to the hype. But what really stood out was how fantastic the service was.
The servers here are some of the best I’ve ever had—friendly, attentive, and always on point. From greeting you with a smile to checking in just the right amount without feeling rushed, they make you feel genuinely welcome. They’re knowledgeable about the menu and happy to offer recommendations if you’re not sure what to try (though you really can’t go wrong with the soy garlic wings!).
Whether you’re dining in or picking up takeout, the staff at Bonchon Woodlawn go above and beyond to make sure you have a great experience. I highly recommend it—come hungry and leave happy!
Update (3/4/26):
When I first wrote my review and for a while after Bonchon was very consistent in delivering quality food. Unfortunately, my last few experiences have been disappointing.
I recently ordered the bibimbap, and it was extremely underwhelming it had an off taste, almost like dish soap, and the “spicy chicken” was very dry and had no flavor. My friend regularly orders the spicy chicken fried rice with no veggies and extra egg (which comes with an additional charge), but the extra egg and spicy chicken are only included when the cook feels like adding it. If there’s a charge for it, it should be prepared correctly every time. We typically order takeout, and I can’t help but wonder if that’s contributing to the lack of quality. Additionally, when picking up orders and requesting soy sauce, the front-of-house staff seem very reluctant to provide it. If there’s a limit on soy sauce, that’s understandable, but it should be clearly communicated rather than made to feel like an inconvenience.
I’m hoping that if we decide to return, the consistency and flavor we once enjoyed will be back. Right now, though, it feels like the reliable quality we used to count on has declined.
You must try the Bulgogi Tacos!!!
