Came for lunch. Food all looked really good but some dishes were not as flavorful as I was expecting from the plating. The fish sour soup (canh chua ca) tasted yummy. Very authentic. The catfish in claypot (ca kho to) was just ok. I’ve tasted better. The eggrolls l’ll pass. But the nem nuong (grilled pork in rice wrap) is a must to try. Chicken wings were also very good. During the time we were there, many people came in to pick up party trays of the nem nuong. It is definitely the item to order.

The food wasn’t bad taste wise, but I found Black Mold on the pickled vegetables in the Cơm tấm dish I ordered. This makes me worry about the age and quality of the food Bodard Bistro serves.

Their spring rolls are amazing. Bahn knot was so crispy and perfect. Love dipping it in the chili oil. One of my favorite things ordered. Catfish clay pot has a lot of flavor and the chicken wings were meaty! I’d go back for the spring rolls and bahn knot over and over.

Their food is alright. Not really the best. The fermented fish noodle soup taste is lacking. Same thing with the bun bo hue.

The nen nuong cuon is such a bestseller by far that there is now a “Nem Nuong Cuon” banner on the strorefront. I have tried other menu items which were all meh. I almost always pick up a tray of Nem Nuong Cuon to go for potlucks and parties though. Nem nuong cuon is 5 stars! You might be able to copy the rolls, but not the dipping sauce!

First time having lunch there with my Wife. She is a regular there. We order some crunchy spring rolls and pho noodle. Both dish turn out to be very delicious. I really enjoy the spring rolls and the pho noodle is not bad either. The broth for the pho was very good. Highly recommend if you in China Town or International District.

Nostalgia struck hard today, leading me to Bodard Bistro for a taste of their famous Nem Nuong. It had been at least a decade since I last savored those delightful grilled pork spring rolls, and the memory of their flavor was vivid. Thankfully, the real thing lived up to the years of anticipation! The bite delivered the same explosion of textures and tastes I remembered, making it a truly satisfying quick stop. If you’re looking for a delicious trip down memory lane, Bodard Bistro’s Nem Nuong is highly recommended.

I personally love this place for one thing and one thing only: nem nuong cuon (grilled pork spring rolls). Why? You ask? Well Duhhhhhhhh they have the best dipping sauce for spring rolls hands down in Houston! I love spring rolls in general but these are my favorite. It’s savory, crunchy and refreshing all at the same time. The sauce makes it. You cannot eat the nem nuong without it. Just wouldn’t be the same. They have since changed the recipe slightly, but not a big a difference. And the rolls seems slightly smaller and thinner too. Still good nonetheless.

They have since relocated to a new plaza but it’s okay. I’ll make the drive. It’s still in Bellaire, just further down towards 59. Never really dined in here b always ordered catering from them. I think that’s how they make majority of their business since almost every time I walk into pick up my orders, it’s always empty.

Ooh and pro tip: you can order their nem nuong sauce (orange sauce) in a plastic pho container container for $8! Not too shabby. I usually pick one up whenever we’re having spring rolls at home!

4 stars for the nem nuong and service!!
The ladies who work there were so nice. And the nem nuong is the bomb dot com!!! We tried other dishes but didn’t think they were special. It was just okay. However, the nem nuong saved the day! We enjoyed it so much every time we came back here that was the only thing we got. Hopefully they improve the menu and give more love to other dishes, so people would come here more often.
P/s: there were 4 nem nuong for 1 serving, not 3 like seen in the picture. It cost me around $8 for 4 pieces.
