We had a great experience at Boathouse 19 in Tacoma. Our waitress truly went above and beyond. She was so kind, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, which made the whole meal even better.
The food was excellent across the board. The fish and chips were perfectly cooked, the clams were delicious, and the fish burger was a standout. Even the kids’ burgers were a hit, which says a lot.
Wonderful service, great food, and a place we’ll absolutely come back to. Highly recommend.

Great location on the waterfront. This venue is pretty casual. Wait staff are always helpful and friendly. Shawna was our server tonight. Excellent customer report.
This week’s special offerings include yummy lobster. I opted for a lobster tail, fresh grilled asparagus, smashed grilled potatoes abd clarified dipping butter. All prepared well. My husband enjoyed scampi roasted lobster tail with a creamy lobster sauced fettuccini, asparagus, mushrooms and cherry tomatoes. It was topped with grated parmesan cheese and included toast.

Redeemed… As I said, normally I’m a Fan… and a Fan again!
I didn’t make this post because I was trying to disparage Boathouse 19’s reputation… but rather as a point of transparency to give way to awareness to unable opportunity for betterment… being in the industry I welcome feedback good or bad ass it allows for me to strengthen and improve my skills to ensure that I will provide guests with an amazing experience…so needless to say I was pleasantly surprised that the opportunity was utilized, and so I will revisit and enjoy a lovely meal today thanks to Danielle.

Normally I’m a Fan.. but somehow my server lost my credit card between running and returning it.. then tried to make it out to be my fault and after raising her voice to me trying to tell me that i must have it coz she saw me take it out I’d the booklet and then asked me.. not once but twice if I’d check my wallet and make sure Thai i didn’t.. Highly inappropriate! But the manager comped my dessert, asked my not to tip my her and informed me that she’d be reprimanded for her appalling behavior and for the awful way she treated me
. But still live this lil spot.. especially to kayak up to the launch and pop in for a midday snack or a sipping doodle.

Boathouse 19 boasts a prime location on the Puget Sound. While its accessibility may present a slight challenge, requiring navigation through the marina, over railroad tracks, and behind the brewery, its integration within the boathouse structure (as the name suggests) is undeniable. Access to the establishment is typically gained either through the restaurant’s entrance or by traversing its interior, unless marina access is available. The ambiance is exceptional; upon entry, the aroma of cooking seafood, the visual display of nets, boats suspended from the rafters, and the photographic decor, immediately evoke a sense of immersion in the Puget Sound experience. Expansive windows on the left offer stunning views of the marina, enhancing the overall atmosphere, regardless of the season, whether bathed in summer sunlight or shrouded in the characteristic gray, hazy fog of a rainy day. Guests have the option of being seated at a table or directly at the bar, which is located to the left upon entry, including the surrounding tables with a raised bar table. The open layout allows patrons seated in the dining area to easily access the bar for beverages without waiting for a server. The policy regarding taking drinks back to the table requires further clarification. Based on past experiences, the establishment previously accommodated certain requests, likely due to established relationships with management and staff, provided that conduct remained respectful and appropriate. The calamari is highly recommended. The clam chowder is particularly enjoyable during the Pacific Northwest’s colder months, and the steamers are consistently a solid choice. The crab legs are a personal favorite, available seasonally. The venue is well-suited for group events, including wedding receptions. My own wedding reception was held there with close friends.

Looking for a place along the waterfront and found this place. The location is kind of hidden away and limited parking close by but you can’t beat the view of the sound and Tacoma Narrows bridge. It was a Friday night and luckily the 3 in our party was over 21 so we got to sit in the bar area. Our waiter was very knowledgeable but also the bartender. Menu had great options and pricing was to be expected for the location. I was excited about the deep fried pickles when I asked if spears or chips but I guess now I should ask if it’s “dill or sweet” because these were sweet. I’m not a fan of sweet pickles but I ordered them so was gonna finish. I love clam chowder and this one did not disappoint! The garlic bread was crispy but had too much garlic (there is such a thing lol). My other 2 companions were satisfied with their choices as well. Overall I would recommend giving this place a shot if in the area!

Stopped by on a Friday afternoon around 2pm without reservation and were seated immediately upon arrival. Overall we found the food to be pricey but was very good and tasty and service was also very good with the exception that it took about 10 mins after being seated before our server came to our table to take our orders. The only other negative here is the high noise-level inside; however, dining outside is an option in good weather.
Deep fried cheese curds were good, especially with the house-made pepper jelly. Pan-fried oysters were served hot and were very tasty and were served with fries that were exceptionally tasty and crispy – probably the best fries we’ve tasted in quite some time – well done Boathouse 19! The spicy seared wild salmon tacos were served hot and were quite tasty accompanied by a fresh cabbage salsa slaw – some of the best fish tacos I’ve tasted anywhere! The triple chocolate brownie sundae was very rich and delicious as was the strawberry sorbet.
Although we paid fine-dining prices, the food was cooked to near perfection and was served hot and was quite tasty – we will be back.

Boathouse 19 offers a fantastic waterfront dining experience — we even got to watch harbor seals swimming while we ate! The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was fast and attentive. They have a wide-ranging menu for both food and drinks. I especially enjoyed the apple crisp cider and the flavorful garlic bread.

The only hiccup was some confusion about where to wait for our outdoor table. The hostess staff was very kind, but clearer guidance would have helped — especially since we had a handicapped individual with us who needed to sit during the 40-minute wait. There weren’t any visible benches or designated waiting areas, and we accidentally sat in what turned out to be a reserved seating area, thinking it was the bar.

That said, once we were seated, the rest of the experience was excellent. The views, the food, and the overall atmosphere made it worth it. We would definitely return.

Went out for dinner here and had such an amazing experience. Staff was so kind!! We had a baby with us and wanted to sit indoors but near a window. Staff had us wait a couple minutes before taking us to a table with a gorgeous view. Our server was amazing! He recommended a really good wine. The beer and drinks were amazing. All the food we had was amazing. I am not a seafood person at all but the calamari was delicious. The seasoning was perfect and the tartar sauce which I believe is homemade is so good. I ordered the impossible burger which is easily the best burger I am ever had. The beef was so tender and juicy. My husband had the combo which he LOVED! We will definitely be back!!
