Bluish Sushi delivered a really solid experience. The lunch special is an excellent value—generous portions and great variety without feeling heavy. The chirashi was especially impressive: fresh, clean flavors that really hit the spot. Service was friendly and the atmosphere relaxed. Not quite a five‑star wow, but definitely a place I’d come back to for a satisfying sushi fix.

Had a wonderful meal. We had the crab cakes for appetizer, Seabass, and steak for entrées. Delicious. Nice in the service were excellent. I will definitely be going back again.

I can see this place is very popular, it was absolutely packed. It’s not for us however. As the name would suggest, it’s a sushi place, but the sushi wasn’t right. The sashimi was too thick, the rice for the rolls didn’t quite work. When we would ask the server to remove our plates that were essentially untouched, he never asked if there was anything wrong, and we didn’t bother complaining. The tempura udon soup was perfect however, it’s a standard to inspire to for the restaurant. We won’t return to be honest. But objectively the ambiance is great, and the servers do try hard to ensure you have a good experience. They do seem understaffed and somewhat overwhelmed however.

While the atmosphere is very nice and the service is welcoming, the food didn’t match expectations and is on the expensive side. It tries to be a sushi spot and a standard bistro (we had salmon and seabass dishes). Neither was great. The fish does not taste as fresh as it should be. The sushi rolls are weirdly oversized. The rice and flavors are not right – compared to other sushi places. Bigger fish and thicker rice does not make it better. The cooked fish dishes were meh. The accompanying vegetables were fresh, but in too much oil. The sushi rolls were definitely someone’s reimagining of good sushi. So, don’t expect sushi like from a traditional Japanese restaurant.
The menu of maki rolls is confusing and has no pictures. The server was completely unable to answer the question of how large the rolls are. So ordering felt a bit uninformed and we ended up with too much.
On a positive note, the wine and appetizers were very good.

This is a great place for a family meal. The menu is very extensive, and the service is excellent. Their Tamago is simple and perfect. My favorite thing on the menu is the Crunchy California roll…it’s unreal. A California roll that they deep fry… Do not skip this place if you’re in town !!!

We loved everything about this place. Weekday dinner reservation (surprised how busy it is even on a weekday), was promptly seated, cozy sophisticated vibe which is uncommon to find in burbs, fast and friendly service all through the dinner.
Cocktails were unique and tasty, mind you its a bit strong. Food was fresh and delicious. All the sushi rolls we had were fantastic – tasting fresh and great proportions of ingredients. We ordered Sushi entrees and this is a great way to try and share signature rolls. Crazy Dragon roll stood out for us. Replacing regular rice with black rice is a great twist (its a hit or miss based on your preference).
This is also a great place to grab some delicious Asian food, if you are not into Sushi. Hot appetizers, fried rice are all really good. House salad is a must try – unique texture and fresh ingredients and the ginger dressing is a bomb.
We will be back for sure.

My girlfriend and I love this place but not anymore. Their ability to prepare food has gone bad. We ordered take out and one of the sushi was torched. My initial thought was this never happened and it looks very unappetizing. I wrote an email and the response I got was nothing but an excuse. I get it that they changed their menu to yuzu seared tuna but look at the picture. How does that looked seared? It looks like chefs got lazy and torched the tuna half ass. Instead of owning up to their mistake by saying we changed to seared tuna but it looks like it was prepared badly. But all I got was we changed the menu and it looks fine so take it or leave it. It’s very bad way of saying we don’t care. I think the management really needs to step up and start caring about their food quality and customers.

I ordered takeout and was very satisfied with the fish and sushi quality. The presentation was visually appealing and the taste hit just right. Both my girlfriend and I enjoyed the suhi rolls. They have some nice signature rolls as well as the classics. Get the rolls with Serrano if you want some heat!
