Blues on Franklin is an awesome place for authentic smoked meat. On my first visit, we met the owner, Andrew, and he showed us the smoker. The smell was amazing but we smelled like smoke by the time we left the restaurant. He sent out some burnt tips for us to try and then I just told him to bring us whatever he recommended. We ended up having some pulled pork, deep fried okra, fantastic curly fries, and other delicious items.

We had to go back and on our second visit we got the burnt smoke gifts and baby back ribs. They were fantastic! As we were leaving, there was a DJ setting up music and I was told it was karaoke night. I was going to start it off with the first song of the night but he wasn’t quite ready. I think this place would be an awesome place for late night but we were there around 5 p.m. before it got busy. Definitely check it out. Our waitresses, Savannah, was very knowledgeable and friendly. Strongly recommended!

One of my all-time favorite restaurants!! The ribs are some of the best I’ve ever had, and the chicken filet sandwich is 10x better than Chik Fil-A. Family owned and operated- Andrew cooks everything himself and adds the perfect touches to every dish. His wife makes the most amazing deserts- the banana pudding is out of this world. They make you feel like family when you’re there. We love coming back here as often as we can! I ate half my green beans before I remembered to take a picture- they were too good!

By far the best Carolina barbecue I’ve had. Delicious meal, great sides, and great service. The owner, Andrew, is the nicest man and really makes you feel special at his family restaurant. Family owned and operated. I will be coming back here every time I visit chapel hill.

Unfortunately I was not a fan of this place. Decided to hop around on Franklin and try of few of the top rated places and this takes last on my list. I will say that the bartender was excellent. I ordered the smoked wings and they were not smoked at all. The wings took along time to come out even though the place appeared to not be busy. Wish I had a better experience.

Excellent bbq sandwich sitting outside people watching. The Q is excellent! Smokey and lean. French fries are a unique style, crunchy and so good.
The onion/mushroom/white cheddar side is fantastic. Lots of room outside for Covid safe dining, and plenty of room inside too when it gets colder. Nice bar area to stop in and hang out too. Chapel Hill people watching…great. This will be a “go to” place for sure. For long term Chapel Hillians, Blue is in the old Merritts gas station on Franklin Street. For newer residence, 110 West Franklin a couple doors down from the Ben & Jerry’s

We stopped by this gem of a spot tonight and we were not disappointed! From the moment we walked in, until we left, we were treated like family. We have 2 feral boys and the owners invited us to come in and let the kids play pool and foosball while we waited for food (which wasn’t long at all!). They took our orders and made us comfortable; even traded some fun trash talk with my husband for being a State fan. The food was delicious — we all agreed those were some of the BEST waffle fries we’d ever eaten! This is a restaurant owned by people who truly care. Definitely give Blues on Franklin a try!

My husband and I decided to grab dinner here, knowing it would probably be less crowded since it’s close to the holidays. The owner was there and was INCREDIBLE! It’s easy to tell he truly cares about the service and the food. The service was great! The atmosphere was fun and warm. The food was AMAZING! My husband got the nachos and I got the house platter pulled pork. We would definitely go again!

The food and Service were outstanding! Unfortunately, it was a day when they were using the smokers and sitting inside was impossible. That being said, they can’t be smoking meats CONSTANTLY, and if you told me I could only have it for takeout I would still agree 10 out of 10! Outstanding ribs, juicy and meaty. The pulled pork was delicious, and the little beef tips were so Tender and flavorful!
