As a local at one time we ate here often. We decided to try it again after the remodel. It’s a great remodel, but, the food is not the same. The portions are very small and the prices aren’t. We spent $36 for a sandwich with onion rings and a pork plate. There may have been a quarter of a cup of BBQ on my sandwich. You tasted more bun than BBQ as you will see in the picks. Sorry, I won’t be back.

Photo is adult size portion of the brisket sandwich I received. Portion sizes are TINY!! The meat portions were the same size as the kids menu sandwich. Brisket was mostly fat on one sandwich which any good brisket has fat, but not a majority. The gal who took my payment via debit arc was wearing food prep gloves and didn’t seem to change them. She didn’t prepare my food but shows their cleanliness practices.

We come here every few months when we visit my in laws. We always eat here. But this last time it was so sad. The food portion is so tiny, not the big yummy platter you used to get. Barely any fries at all…like it looked like someone stole some fries. Wasn’t very tasty either. The kids chicken nuggets were 4 little quarter sized flat disc with literally (yes I counted) 5 tiny fries. I had to order more food for my kids. My in laws were appalled by the little food we got for over $100! Luckily there are many other great places around. So sad this place screwing their customers so badly.

DO NOT Eat here! The food was absolutely inedible. The chicken had a terrible after taste, the sausage was literally black and odd tasting, and the brisket was dry and foul smelling.even the tea was bitter tasting. Not one of our party of 7 could eat the food. It was disgusting. We had to throw it out and go somewhere else. $100 down the drain. Luckily, there was a great bbq place less than a mile away at the train depot.

Best chicken salad hands down. Been coming here on vacation for years and they have never disappointed.

Not a pleasant experience the food was overdone to the point of tough. The taste was lacking in the baked beans. The Brunswick stew had a scorched taste I’d recommend you try a different place. Don’t ask for double onions rings as a side the up charge on onions is $8.00. Save your money try any other place you’d be better off.

What can I say about this place other it was amazing. I can safely say I’ve never had a more tender and tasteful half a slab of ribs. No need for toothpicks with this meat. I was able to pull out all 6 bones with next to no meat left on them. I topped my meal with corn on the cob and fried okra. My mom got two generous scoops of the BBQ chicken salad with collard greens and fried okra. My husband got pulled pork plate with corn on the cob and French fries. All that good for a little over $30.

This place can use some homemade food and their own home made tea the lady acted like the tea didn’t turn out as sweet as normal and then the other comes out with Laura Lynn tea in a jug, so she didn’t even make it so how did it turn out less sweet than normal?! The chicken nuggets are from a bag not home made. If they actually home made some of their food the high priced might be worth it but we won’t be returning this was our 2nd time we gave them a second chance and it proved why we hadnt been back! Very high prices for food and tea from the grocery store, Ingles to be exact.
