Right off State Route 108 and only a few minutes from the Ohio Turnpike, tucked into one of the most rural stretches you can imagine, sits Blue Ribbon Diner. Places like this are one of my favorite parts of traveling. In a world where every exit is the same lineup of chain restaurants, diners like this stand out because they have their own personality, their own rhythm, and their own charm. Blue Ribbon is exactly that kind of spot.
I came in on a quiet Thursday evening, and the whole place had this calm, comforting small town feel. Clean, bright, simple, and welcoming. No noise, no chaos, no rush. Just that familiar hum of a local place doing what it has done for years.
The service was quick and friendly, and the prices are something you do not see anymore. A cheeseburger, fries, and a pop for under twenty bucks feels almost unheard of now. It immediately sets the tone that this is a place that still believes in giving you a good meal at a fair price.

Stopped for lunch on our way home on the tollway. Got the recommendation from YELP. The place is clean, staff friendly and efficient. I got grilled chicken sandwich. It was a real boneless chicken breast grilled fresh. The coleslaw was crisp and fresh. Our soups were definitely homemade. Took a piece of coconut cream pie home to enjoy later. I could tell they were also homemade. I would eat here again if I am passing through the area.

A treasure of a pit stop! On a work run I wound up having to stay at the motel across the road. Took a stroll as I was needing dinner. Let me tell you what. Service friendly and attentive very pleasant,the atmosphere was what you would expect from a country home town diner … very cool.. laid back and friendly..now the food..WOW! I ordered Ribeye steak … perfectly cooked…mouth watering.the corn sweet and delicious the . loaded baked potato holy smokes… I’ve never gotten wowed by a spud but man this loaded bad boy was awesome. ..I’m not going to forget to mention my starter salad…soooo crisp and fresh as it should be , I swear I think all the veggies including the potato came from a garden out back… In short…FOLKS make it a point to stop and eat at The Blue Ribbon Diner….it definitely takes first place…you won’t regret it .oh yeah beware of their pie display….

I was coming into Ohio from Wisconsin to meet a College buddy of mine. We randomly choose the Blue Ribbon Diner as it was close to the Ohio / Indiana border. We had no idea what to expect given that neither one of us had ever heard of Wauseon but it was a perfect spot to meet right off of the turnpike. We were pleasantly surprise by the friendly atmosphere and great service. I had the cinnamon swirl French toast, bacon, and sausage. My homeboy had a Western Scrambler. We eat it up like a bunch of hungry Simpson characters. The decor and service felt like a throw back to diner movie scene. We had a blast. Thank you miss J for your great service and the owner for the cookies. They were fantastic!

We stopped in after a long day of driving, we were starving!! We ordered 2 turkey dinners with mashed potatoes and gravy! The food was great and a lot!!!! We enjoyed it very much. The young woman that waited on us was wonderful, very pleasant. It was a very nice and clean place to eat and right next to where we were spending the night! So glad we found it!!!

I stopped on a Monday for lunch, and I ordered the Hot Turkey sandwich along with a cup of soup. The soup was delicious, and you could tell it was homemade, it was so tasty.
As far as the Turkey, it was shredded instead of sliced and to be honest I like sliced much better. The shredded Turkey seemed dry to me, but the gravy helped a lot and was very tasty. The vegetables were green beans, and they were some of the best beans I have ever had.
Overall, this was a great meal, and I will stop again, just next time I will order something different.
