Blue Moon Diner is overflowing with character and history. Originally operated as The Waffle Shop in the 1950s, Blue Moon Diner has occupied the Hartnagle-Witt House, which was built in 1884, since 1979, and has had several owners, or stewards, since then. Laura Galgano and Rice Hall bought into the dream in 2006, and look forward to many years serving their neighbors and friends. We want to welcome you, feed your body and comfort your spirit. Our goal is to help create stronger connections through food and music and service to each other.

Delicious, fresh, breakfast and lunch menu wonderfully curated from largely local/regional craft suppliers. Local bread, artisan bacon, and a custom roasted coffee we enjoyed so much that we bought a bag to take home. Everything our party had was great with the veg scramble and catfish being standouts. All in a fun kitschy atmosphere. A busy local favorite as well as a tourist spot so reservations recommended.

Charming, laid-back diner right off of West Main Street. Inside is full of fun records, stickers, and decor. I would suggest doing the reservation ahead of time, as there could be a wait.

Quaint little place on Main Street to grab breakfast. This was our last stop after a weekend in Charlottesville and it didn’t disappoint. Be sure to take advantage of their reservations. Seating is limited. Food is delicious and team service concept ensures you are always taken care of!
