First time at Black Oak Tavern and I liked it. Awesome bartenders/servers. I ordered the smashburger with fries and it was good. I wish the meat had a bit more seasoning to it but it was good. I would definitely go back and try some other items on their menu.

I really enjoyed having lunch at Black Oak Tavern in Oak Lawn. I ordered two appetizers, Chicken tender, juicy, plumb and delicious. The honey mustard dipping sauce is house made and was delicious!! Great blend of sweet and savory. And a Bavarian pretzel, buttery tender and the Gouda cheese sauce for dipping was awesome! Loved my choices. They do have burgers, sandwiches, and other dishes to choose from. The Tavern is clean, spacious and the server was friendly and helpful. The prices are a tad high but is worth it for a treat. I gave it 4 stars, due to the parking being limited. The restaurant is on a small shopping mall. Despite the parking, it’s worth a visit. Check out their website for the full menu.

After Living in Oak Lawn for almost Five years I finally decided to stop by for the first time. The service was great our Bartender Dayna (sorry if I’m spelling it wrong) was quick to attend to us. She always made sure we were happy with our drink and never had an empty cup, while still cognitive of course. The burger and fries we had were exceptional! Very tasty and well prepared. Definitely going to make this a regular thing now while in the area.

I had the spinach salad tonight with strawberries, feta, and walnuts. It was served with a balsamic vinaigrette dressing and was very tasty. There is an option to add chicken, steak, or shrimp. Our server, Danette, was exceptional, very welcoming and efficient.

We headed here for lunch after a travel baseball game in the area. Great food and service from start to finish. We had kids with us (ages 7-13) and they were entertained by the games the bar had on hand (Hungry Hungry Hippos & Sorry). Also, they had outlets conveniently located on the wall (plugs and phone adapters) which were a nice bonus. The bar itself was clean including the dining area and bathrooms. Overall a wonderful experience for a first timer. We will be back for sure!

This is my second time coming here. First time was ok. Drinks are good but food was fair. This time I ordered hot wings and they brung me a plate of chicken with hair (check out photos) also the shrimp pasta had NO TASTE at all. When they remade my wings someone else brung them out and said “Wings with No Hair” as if it were funny. It was disgusting. The waiter pretty much ignore all of our request after that, while the place wasn’t busy when we sat down. Over all one star. The customer service wasn’t up to part and the food wasn’t that great. The one star is only for the great drinks. The older lady that works at night made our drinks so good. That’s what made me come back but after this visit I won’t be returning!!

Pancakes were soaked in egg yolk, service was terrible. They also put a service charge on our bill of 2 people. I asked her to take it off and she gave me back the bill with the same amount.

First timer, just moved into the neighborhood. Dark parking lot might be hard to spot, but worth it to find. Was craving some pozole and this was the only place that had it listed on their website specials. Ordered that along with the happy hour $2 fish tacos. Everything was tasty and the tacos were super tasty something you might pay $4-$5 elsewhere.

This is a nice looking place with lots of room in back for seating, and enough televisions to watch all your favorite teams.
The food was just okay. I ordered a burger medium and it was served well done and on the dry side.

The food is fantastic. I’ve been here for lunch and dinner plus with kids. Each time the food has been awesome. The drinks are good as well. A must visit if you’re in the Oak Lawn area.
