There are a few pics from last night at The Black Bear, owned and operated by The Zimmer family for many years.. If you haven’t been down there yet, get there! It’s always a good time. They have pool, corn hole, darts, outdoor seating with shade, and much more! There’s even a food truck with the most delicious BBQ I’ve had in a long time!

Most people wouldn’t give the black bear tavern second glance let alone to stop in for a cold beer.
I’ve driven past the black bear tavern many times and for some strange reason it always brings a movie to mind, jeepers creepers! Now I’m not sure why it reminds me of that movie but i definitely had to stop.
I’m glad i did. Not only did I get to enjoy some ice cold beer, but I met some mighty friendly folks one if which who was tending the bar who even showed me his classic truck equipped with a keg and taps!
Talk about an awesome little watering hole.

30 years ago my car broke down in front of Black Bear Tavern. I went inside looking for a pay phone. A cowboy there asked what was going on and I told him about my car. Without hesitation he hooked up my car to his truck and towed me in to town.I will never forget this man and his kindness.

Perhaps the great dive bar ever. 2 types of beer served: Keystone and Keystone Light, from the can. Has challenging shuffleboard table due to crooked floors and building. Great accessable location from Mennonite church.

Very old fashioned and welcoming bar. They don’t serve hard alcohol however, great bar games a people. Exactly what you imagine in a local watering hole to grab a beer and play a few games of pool.
