Been here the past 2 days food was good service was good. I would say the downside about it when the all you can eat fish on Friday and Saturday after 4pm..I ask for that they said no and it was after 4pm on Saturday. So all in all good food okay service not as packed here like the one in fresno. I also want to add that their red potato mash was the the best I had from any restaurants hands down the best mash out of all the black bear diner I’ve been in.

Black Bear Diner is always busy on the weekends, you cannot get a table without waiting for at least 15-20 minutes. We went there on a weekday morning, Tuesday to be exact. Coffee was good, water was added to go with it. We ordered breakfast- the Volcano and the California omelette. Both entrees were tasty. The sourdough toast needed a little less butter and the home style potatoes needed to be cooked a little bit longer- they were soft but needed to be more well done. The service was good and the check out process was easy. Nice breakfast place to walk to on the weekends.

The fish and chips were pretty good. Not greasy or loaded with batter. It was crispy and hot. The “fresh” coleslaw was not fresh or very good. Too much vinegar – one bite, and that was enough to know, no thank you.

It was very busy. I came around noon. However, I still had great service and delicious food! I got eggs, sausage, biscuits, and gravy. The portions were huge! I would definitely come back and recommend this place to friends and family! Also, if you like Orange juice, they do freshly squeezed O.J! Perfect experience!

Had a nice family get together for my daughters high school graduation. Everything was absolutely perfect. Couldn’t ask for more. The food was hot and delicious. The service was outstanding. The atmosphere was filled with positive energy. And the restaurant was clean and stocked with all the necessities. Including the bathroom. Thank you for such a pleasant experience on such an important day.

Black Bear Diner is America’s favorite gathering place for families of all colors, shapes, sizes and cultural backgrounds. Plating, food and presentation at the Black Bear Diner location at Sunrise and Madison in Citrus Heights was first rate. Discovered a fine young man getting some exercise in Black Bear Diner’s accessible seating area. Video below.

The food here is good. I’m not personally blown away by anything at black bear especially for the price. I think it’s a nice place to eat but it would probably be better if the prices were lower. My favorite item off the menu is the biscuits and sausage gravy. Those are delicious. And I like the pancakes because they’re quite substantial.

Food was pretty good. Service was good but they come to your table immediately to ask if your ready. The first lady to help use kind of had a little attitude when we asked for water. Over all good place.
