The food was delicious. The burger and chicken were well-prepared and very tasty. The waitresses were a bit strange at the entrance; they didn’t notice us because they were busy talking. We didn’t know if we could come in or not. I think the staff needs work because the place is nice, but things like this will stop people coming because the waitresses don’t create a great atmosphere. The view from this restaurant is charming; you can have a nice time eating and admiring the beautiful views. I highly recommend the food; you can definitely eat delicious food here.

Booked a table for 6pm turned up early and was able to sit straight down. I did request a window seat but it looked like they only had tables of 4 by the window which was a bit of a shame and we where squeezed in to a table I would say was far too close to other tables both sides so to get in and out was a bit awkward. Luckily there wasn’t anyone sitting on one of the tables next to us other wise I would have dropped a star. That was the only negative thing but like I say luckily there wasn’t anyone on one of the side of us so it ended up not being an issue. Service was spot on our waiter was there when he needed to be and not constantly coming over brought our drinks and food out in great time. We got the 3 course meal and 2 glasses of the house red which I recommend. Jug of water brought out to us when we sat down nice touch. Starter we got the calamari really delicious. Both got steak, chips and garlic sauce which were cooked to perfection. Then we got the cremè brûlée, chocolate mousse and we got the baked cheesecake which all were outstanding and tasted so fresh. The bill automatically adds a tip 10% which I don’t really agree with as it should be up to you if your experience deserves a tip. Am not sure if you can ask to get this taken off but on this occasion the staff 100% deserves that 10% and more if I had cash on me. When we come back next year we will definitely be returning 10/10 well deserved thanks.

School dinnerish, okay food. I went twice in March due to limited options on Torquay seafront. I had fillet steak and frittes first night. Edible, nice frittes, nice dressing on salad. The steak was ok – I ordered medium rare – it came well done. It wasn’t chewy but the flavour wasn’t fantastic.I had the chocolate mousse for dessert. Not like anything you’d get in France. Too big, too sickly, unpleasant texture. Second night I ordered slow cooked lamb shoulder with boulangerie potatoes. Basically Lancashire hotpot. OK but not fantastic. Creme brulee for dessert had a nice crispy top, the underneath could have been firmer. Staff waiting tables were very nice. The younger ones stood about chatting, not all of it should have been within earshot of customers. On Monday and Tuesday night in March they were overstaffed (I take no pleasurein sayingthat) so not enough to keep them occupied. Overall, edible food but not great and I’m sorry to say, not really worth the money.

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout my visit. The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. Every bite was a treat, and you can really tell a lot of care goes into the cooking. Service was quick without feeling rushed, which made the whole experience even better. I truly enjoyed my meal and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended!

Great location with wonderful sea views, booked in advance, delicious food: starter, main course and dessert.
The service is very slow, we waited for the waiter to order the dish, then to pay.
The outdoor terrace has iron chairs, cold for the buttocks, felt uncomfortable, if there were some cushions on the chairs it would be great.

Food and views were amazing as it’s right by the seafront , great value for money on set menus that change seasonally. We had the steak frites and three small plates to share and all of it was cooked perfectly. Staff were attentive and friendly and the meal flowed nicely would recommend 100%.

Today we had the pleasure of dinning at pierres Torquay. On entrance we were welcomed with a warm smile. We ordered our food with a couple of change requests, which they were happy to substitute. All the food was very good. Hot delicious, good portions and well presented. The dynamic in staff was applaudable. Happy, dedicated. Not just a few but all staff what a great team.
Id also like to commend the staff. We had 3 females next to us,from the moment they sat down to the moment we left all they did was moan. And the staff were very accommodating and patient. (I personally would of asked them to leave ) But you all stayed professional and for that you should be proud.
Again top marks from me and my wife. Thank you for a great experience

Just had the best steak frites I’ve ever had outside of my own home. I’d never usually order steak out as I’m usually disappointed (and it’s expensive) but I’ve been away for a few weeks and really fancied steak. Not only was it very reasonably priced, it was cooked absolutely perfectly pink/rare and presented beautifully. Despite it being the wettest Tuesday in living memory in a depressing February, almost every table was taken by a real mix of groups creating a lovely atmosphere – friends, families, couples and me and the dog! I recommend the Crement de Limoux as well!

We ended up going to Bistrot Pierre after exploring the Torquay harbour looking for a reasonably priced restaurant with our dog. I wish we had gone straight here if we had known how good the food was and that it was dog friendly!
The set menu was well priced, 2-course £20.95 and 3-course £24.95. Our meal (red pepper & tomato arancini, chicken fricassee x2, crème brulee and dark chocolate mousse) was absolutely delicious, full credit to the chef. Fantastic flavours and presented extremely well.
The service was also very good, well done to Igor (highly professional and friendly) for bringing water for the dog and generally looking after us throughout our visit.
The venue, with great views of the harbour and split across two levels) had a cosy feel to it and even had an outdoor fresh seafood bar next to the restaurant. We were very impressed with our visit to Bistrot Pierre and would recommend this to anyone looking for great food and service while in Torquay.
