Had I not been recommended to Billy’s by a local Jasper resident. I probably would have never found it or even known it was open for business. The place won’t win any awards for how nice it looks outside or inside. But I bet they would be in the running for top prize on the food they put out.
I ordered the sliced brisket sandwich. It was huge and ohh so tasty. It had probably near or over a pound of meat in it. The potato salad was made with more mustard than my liking. The next day talking to locals they say the Rib sandwich is the secret menu item to order. I look forward to trying that on my next visit.

The baked beans that they claimed to be homemade tasted like they came straight out of the can with nothing extra added to them. The “hot” links had good flavor, but weren’t spicy enough. The sliced brisket was perfectly cooked and the sauce was a perfect match with it. The potato salad was made with sweet relish and was pretty good. Billy came out to introduce himself and was friendly…his wife’s a little quirky, but friendly enough.

My wife and I ordered Cheeseburger with fries. The food wasn’t bad, but nothing special. Especially since the fries were frozen crinkle fries from grocery store and cost was $18 and change. Now one of the cheeseburgers was a double.
Their service sucked. Its like they didn’t want to be there.

OMG MY FAVORITE BBQ EVER! The staff and owner are so sweet and bent over backwards for us when they were out of something we ordered. We have made road trips (yess, more than one) just to go eat there and we are almost 90 miles away! Best neck bones for sure but call ahead because they run out real fast. Haven’t been in a while so…. MAKING PLANS FOR THE NEXT TRIP!

Ok, this is a good BBQ place. It is an old place,2 with some good food. Better for take out. People are nice, 4. The brisket was a 4. Hot links they said they made???? were good, but I believe store bought and not spicy, a 3.

I live in Beaumont Texas My family and I happily take that drive to get the chop beef sandwich and links ! The bbq sauce is amazing I tried to order a loaf of bread and a gallon of the bbq sauce it was a negative! Had to try .
