Stopped here for a quick lunch on our way out of Linn valley. Surprisingly they have a pretty big selection of bbq and desserts. We had the brisket dinner with beans and potato salad. Brisket was a little overdone for us, but still very tasty. The sauce itself is peppery and not too sweet. Beans and potato salad were great! We will be back and next time I’m hoping we have room for pie.

absolutely amazing service , called earlier at 8 when they opened at 11 to get the ribs ready and they were on time at 10:40. And the food was spectacular best thing to have at the end of a long hunt. 10/10 would definitely recommend

Since it’s so blasted hot and I wasn’t in the mood to cook this evening, we thought we would try Big Smokes out ordered a slab of ribs and I will tell you they were wonderful! The meat literally fell off the bones and very tasteful. This will definitely be our go to place for ribs in the future!

We were coming off the highway looking for some barbeque to eat, and I saw that this place had a high rating. I don’t know if I happened to get a bad batch on the ribs or the pulled pork but the meat quality was very poor. The fries tasted like they came from a freezer bag, pickle was funny, and my SO thought the beans were weird but I liked them. Also the ketchup and bbq sauce tasted very bland. Very low quality on the barbeque side. Felt way too cheap for the price.
However, the Praline Cheesecake we had was delicious! Absolutely wonderful, too sugary for our tastes so we couldnt finish it.
I would not recommend this place for those seeking an authentic barbeque experience, but would definitely recommend for cheesecake lovers!

Was in town for work. Grabbed a pound of brisket to eat on the way home. Most of it was cold, still solidified fat on the bark. Most of it tasted decent but anything with bark had a dirty smoke taste. Some of the bark was just rubber and not even chewable.

Whoever posted high reviews for this place does not have a good palette. I got the ribs combo and it was terrible! The cheesy corn is from a can with shredded cheese and the ribs was barely smoked and cooked in an oven. The potato salad was bare able.
The atmosphere was average. The only good thing was the lady who took our order and chickens running around. I DEFINITELY would NOT recommend.

I live on Overland Park, but I come down to my cabin on weekends. I have been coming to Big Smoke’s for several years. The food is amazing, and a great selection is available. My favorite is the catfish. I would come by just for the strawberry salad-if that’s all they had. My wife likes the grape salad as well. I missed the gumbo special last week. I will catch it next time.
