The best mid-mountain ski bar in Tahoe! Great hot food and snack options, plus an ample drink selection. Indoor seating to escape the cold, or enjoy the World Class lake views from the outside seating area.

Always good vibes here with classic rock playing on the speakers and drinks flowing.

Mountain Magic at Big Blue View Bar, Homewood Ski Resort

Big Blue View Bar, perched mid-mountain at Homewood Ski Resort, is a slice of alpine paradise for Jessica and me. As locals, Homewood is our winter haven, and Big Blue is the cherry on top of this snowy delight.

The place is an embodiment of mountain charm, where the allure of fresh slopes meets the comfort of hearty food and warming drinks. Whether it’s burritos, drinks, or other culinary treats, the menu seems to stretch as long as the ski runs.

But let’s talk about the views – they’re nothing short of magical. Sitting here, beverage in one hand, burrito in the other, gazing out at the pristine blues of Lake Tahoe on a clear day is an experience hard to rival. It’s these moments that make Big Blue a must-visit spot on the mountain.

Service? It’s as heartwarming as the food and drinks. Everything is served with a side of love, making each visit memorable.

“For a heavenly ski break with views and brews, Big Blue View Bar is your Homewood highpoint.”

Expensive….cold coffee and no cookies…..needs some work….Homewood is very worn out and tired, slow old lifts and many brealdowns….they have not rebuilt the lodge that burt down and often require skiers to take a shuttle between the lifts… ugh….needs a good up grade….

Always have to make a mid day pit stop for a cold one. While this place is just a very basic establishment, it has all the nourishment you need when on the mountain, with a view that is second to none.

The food selection is limited and expensive but it is the only on-mountain restaurant/snack bar at Homewood. The sandwiches are so-so and take time to be made. The outdoor seating area is great in sunny weather but can be noisy on Saturdays when they have a DJ.

This is a ski-access dome tent bar with a deck overlooking Lake Tahoe. It has a full bar but limited food offerings. The wind can really whip up there in the early afternoons (strange local weather pattern!) and it’s the only place on the mountain to duck inside for a break. Going all the way down to the base is not a great idea because the best snow and terrain are up top. The heater blows on the space in front of the cash register giving you incentive to stand in line if you are cold. A hot chocolate with whipped cream is $4.20 and a cocktail is $10.

Great spot for a bite and a brew mountainside. Reasonable prices on food, super friendly service, and great jams playing inside and out. Great deal on tall boys of local brew dogs and plenty of snacks of you want to just grab something and go. Bathrooms available outside.

Cool bar on the slopes. Prices are very reasonable. Only drank, did not eat, so cannot tell you about the quality of the food. Fantastic DJ. I am 54 and ’80s mix is difinitely my thing!

Best view of Lake Tahoe from the Big Blue View Bar. Ski/snowboard, take a break at mid-mountain Homewood Mountain Resort, enjoy grab and go with your favorite beverage.

I would give this place 0 stars if I could it might offer seating for a great view but the food was cold, and bland, you are better off just skiing down to 89 bar and grill or picking up something from Euro Snacks, this place is a bust.
