What started rather promising sadly ended in a disappointment.
After being served our cocktails, we got our appetizers, which were ok (guacamole and grilled peppers), but rather pricy for the small portion. We then had to wait a bit for the tacos, but it was worth it, as they were quite good. However, after waiting a total of two hours (!) for the main dish, we finally got chicken mole and pork loin, both of which were served lukewarm and dry. For around 22€ each, one would expect a small side at least, but that was sadly not the case (it was just a small-sized piece of meat with a scoop of sauce; any potatoes or the likes would have had to be ordered separately for additional 10€). Chicken mole tasted only like clove, to a level that it was unedible. If you ever had a proper mole, then you’d expect a flavor-rich dish with tender meat, some lime to balance the sweetness of the dried fruit and some rice to soak up the sauce. Even a warmed-up, prepacked batch of mole paste could easily trump the flavor of this presentation of sadness and wouldn’t take 2 hours to mess it up. For a total of almost 240€ for 4 people, we left after over 2,5h still hungry and deeply disappointed.
The nice effort of the waiter to cheer the customers up by drinking with them while working, sadly can’t compensate the poor quality of an overpriced menu of bad execution. Rather stick to fries and waffles when in Ghent.

My husband and I ate here. We were only given a drink menu when sat so we requested a food menu. They tried to take our drink order when my husband was in the washroom because they “normally take drinks before food” – fine but possible red flag for what was to come. Ordered our drinks and was served a below average margarita. We were then told they were out of two of the dishes on their very limited menu. We had guacamole which was fine but not worth the price. The pork belly was decently cooked but under salted. Then our mains arrived. Both meat dishes we ordered were cold. The “corn bread” (still not sure what this actually was) was the only hot thing. Upon telling the waitress that our food was cold, she took no action to fix anything and asked us if we wanted anything else. Please don’t eat here, it’s not worth the price. Also your “house rules” aren’t funny, they just make you seem rude.

Amazing experience, our server Daniella was excellent, very attentive and friendly. The food was 10/10 and we received complimentary in house tequila shots for my birthday. The chef also sent out a complimentary dish. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone. The food tastes very authentic and it was delicious and the drinks are amazing!

Hope they can salvage/bring back to life what was once a great restaurant! I’ve been here twice since they reopened last summer. I’m done. Less care is being put into the food. Clearly understaffed for servers. They accidentally double charged our card at the end of the evening. What an ordeal… The only thing that has gone up since they reopened is the prices. Dios Mio. Get back to basics! Gent needs you

Amazing place to eat for a group having different diets. The dishes to share are more than enough for two and you have a great amount of choice, with really good tastes. The prices are fair and the atmosphere is really nice. Might be good to have a reservation as if you don’t have one, you might need to leave the table at a specific hour. The place is a bit small but it’s really worth dining here as the staff and the food is amazing.

We arrived and they told us the cocktails were not available (no explanation why). I asked for a alcohol free drink, they told me it was not available because it was considered as a mocktail. Then we ordered Sol beer, and they bring us Corona without explaining why they change it. Some of the waiters were nice, but there was a lot of lack of quality in the service. We ended leaving without ordering food (they did offer the Corona’s so there’s that).

Nice restaurant in the heart of Gent, cool atmosphere. The food was tasty and special, but the tacos were unhandy to eat (lots of oil in the meat and small taco shells). And our food wasn’t delivered together (My partner had to wait 10 minutes longer than me). I still recommend this place, we enjoyed it a lot besides my small points. 🙂

Guys. It’s okay that there were no cocktails.
Would it have been nicer if someone could make them or you would’ve found a replacement ?
Sure. We’re not going to a Mexican restaurant just to drink beer, right?
But if we ask for Sol beer, then give us Sol, or be honest that you don’t have it.
Don’t hand us a Corona and act like we won’t notice. That feels dishonest and doesn’t inspire much confidence in your service.
At least the waiter was friendly and made up for it by giving us the beers for free.
Unfortunately, we didn’t stay for dinner, as we simply lost confidence in getting good service for the rest of the evening.
Props to the waiter for being kind. The other service left to be desired. Bit of a downer for our three year anniversary with my girlfriend.
With a bit of fantasy, McDonald’s is Mexican too, right?

Best Mexican spot in Gent! There I said it. Go for the chef’s special on the menu and definitely try one (or more) of their cocktails. Don’t even think about walking in without a reservation on the weekend but trust me this one’s totally worth a try! Special shout-out to Younis who tended to us!
