This is a very good Indian restaurant to eat . It is kashmiri style food , very authentic and different than typical india restaurant food in the US. I ordered thali for two, and every item in thali was unique and reminded me of some flavors back in Delhi/India, I used to taste . I will recommend ordering thali if you want to experience a variety of dishes with one order . Service and ambiance were excellent, too.

Love the food and atmosphere! Great happy hour! The Gin and tonic is amazing with cardamom and Indian spice. And the chicken skewers melt in your mouth! 10/10 recommend for cozy meals with friends or a date night! Great location too near 23rd street.

This is one of those place we kept walking by and saying “we really need to try it”. We finally went in last night and man oh man are we upset we didn’t go earlier. We started with a tamarind margarita (a special), and immediately realized this meal would be full of flavor. It was fantastic. We then ordered the Thali for 2 and the food was amazing! We loved the eggplant dish, which we never would’ve ordered, but it’s likely become a favorite. We left happy and full. Don’t be like us & walk by for years without popping in. The food and service were great. We will be back, frequently. What a lovely addition to this stretch of NW 21st.

First off, I put 3 stars for atmosphere because it is casual and kind of plain. At night, when the bar is in action, it’s more cool and modern, plus there are nice decorations from the owner’s home country around. Both times I was there I loved the chill playlist. But… the real deal about here is the food. GO NOW! My partner and I stumbled on this place just reading the menu in the window. We are vegetarian and wondered if the small menu would be expansive enough. I think they have a smallish menu so they can do the dishes they do perfectly. Each thing we had was spiced perfectly and individually and nothing tasted like anything else. What was supposed to be crispy was crispy, the vegetables were not broken down and soupy, the sauces weren’t gloppy gravies… the cooking was top-tier. We got “special” sides and I wish they were all constant menu items. The green beans were roasted and slightly charred, tossed with ginger slivers and toasted garlic and chili flakes and garnished with cilantro and radish. That’s a lot of effort for one dish! The palak paneer was in a light refreshing sauce and the spinach was firm, and the cheese was fried perfectly. The rice that came with it was lemony, and the raita tasted cool and fresh. The dressing for the salad was a standout, with mustard and tiny red onion dice and citrus… I would go back for the salad alone…. I thought it would be “fine, a salad” and it was an exciting dish. The best thing we had was collards with kohlrabi (kind of like turnip) in a deep-tasting smoky spicy sauce that was light, not stewy. The greens were tender and not cooked to death. And guess what? It is CHEAP for what it is. Really reasonable for such elevated dishes. They also have a good cocktail list. Don’t be afraid of the unfamiliarity of the menu. I swear to you this will become a place you return again and again and will rave to your friends about. I wish it would move to NYC where I live. I will dream about this place

So recently I visited this restaurant after seeing good reviews but totally disappointed. I thought this is proper Indian restaurant but doesn’t seems like. I would call it as fancy restaurant. The vibe was good, very clean place interior was also good but I don’t like the food at all. Very less options. I ordered mango coconut lassi which was not good at all then vegetables pakora and this one was also not good, Chettinad chicken bowl was good but the quantity was very less for even one person. If you are looking for proper Indian restaurant I would not recommend this.

Enjoyed the food! However, it is definitely more on the spicy side. It not the traditional taste you get at a buffet, but definitely worth trying!

We went on a Sunday evening and wanted to try their food. We ordered some tea for drinky, lamb boti kebab, chicken chettinad and lamb Rogan josh with some naans. We thoroughly enjoyed the food but we were a bit unsatisfied by the quantity of food served and hence had to order more. Other than that, we liked our food.

The best Indian food in Portland (and I eat Indian a lot and super picky).Only sadness- please add Mali Kofta and Butter Chicken. I ordered the three vegetarian dishes a la carte and I had to pause eating to give a review I was so impressed. The flavor of each is so intricate (they use lots of rich fresh spices and you can tell). Got the collards, the eggplant, and the spinach one on the main veggie menu….Im coming back weekly for these (I got mine to go so don’t pay attention to ambiance of my pic)

This place is not for you if looking for typical indian food, this is specific Kashmir flavors which is not spicy and creamy like North indian or south indian food. Dum aloo was horrible not sure if this is how its cooked in Kashmir, rest of the food was ok.

Bhuna is some of the best Indian food I’ve had… ever! My husband and I have been dreaming of the Kashmiri lamb rogan josh and the pickled mango sauce since we had it for lunch a few weeks ago. We also had the pleasure of meeting Deepak who is extremely relatable and easy to talk to. Overall a fun and delicious experience. We’ll definitely be coming back with our friends!
