I ate here for dinner and we shared the veggie platter. It is definitely a good enough size for 2 people to share. I think the service was very quick and the atmosphere was lovely. For whatever reason it was really hot in the restaurant but it wasn’t too bothersome. I would recommend!

Beteseb Restaurant truly makes you feel like home! The waitresses are warm, attentive, and always smiling, and the kitchen staff does an amazing job — every dish is full of authentic flavor and cooked with love. The manager is one of the friendliest people you’ll meet; he goes out of his way to make sure every guest is happy and satisfied. He even helps you try different dishes and explains them in detail.

If you’re looking for delicious food, great hospitality, and a cozy family atmosphere, Beteseb is the perfect place. Highly recommended!

Wonderful veggie combo! Very flavorful and enough for two people to share. Injera was fluffy and a perfect compliment to the food. Restaurant was bright and clean. Ate there on a Thursday at 5:15. In and out in 45 minutes!

Service:
No reservation needed when we arrived, and we were seated and attended to right away. The staff was friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better. As the evening went on, it started to get more crowded around 7 PM, so if you’re coming during peak dinner time, a reservation might be a good idea.

Taste:
We were in the mood for Ethiopian food and decided to check out Beteseb based on the great reviews—and it didn’t disappoint! We ordered a platter with extra tibs, and it was more than enough for the three of us. Every bite was flavorful, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. You can really tell the food is made with care.

Ambiance:
The space is cozy and welcoming, and we loved the creative presentation of the dishes—it added a fun and modern twist to traditional Ethiopian fare. It’s a great spot for both casual meals and special gatherings.

Recommendation:
Beteseb is definitely a gem. If you’re looking for delicious Ethiopian food in a comfortable setting with great service, this is the place. We’ll definitely be back!

The chef was a recent James Beard Semifinalist. It’s good Ethiopian food but not remarkably better than the other know names (CherCher, Eatopia, etc.) in the area. As I was leaving a couple ordered the crispy beef which looked really interesting.

My boyfriend and I were visiting in the area and wanted to try something new. We have always been curious about Ethiopian cuisine and this part of the country has a noticeable populatuon. After doing some Google reviews we decided on Beteseb and we do not regret it! From the moment we sat down to our meal being brought, our server was extremely helpful since this was our first experience with Ethiopian food. There was so much flavour it blew out our taste buds and the textures succulent and juicy. Truly an amazing experience and highly recommend.

The food here was decent but nothing so exceptional that it would merit a swift return. I had the veggie combo with the doro wot, beef tibs, and the beef kifto. Nothing stood out in particular, nothing really popped and stayed with me, but it definitely wasn’t bad either. Service was solid and place was clean and well layed out.

Delicious Ethiopian food right in the heart of Silver Spring. We ordered a meat plate with different delicious meat and vegetarian options.

The bread or dough is tasty as well and less sour than most other places.

Beer in the refrigerator and wine by the glass are simple and no frills.

Great service and bit of a cafeteria feel. We loved it and can recommend it.

Positively delicious. Very generous portions, such delicious spices, so flavorful. There was 5 of us and we ordered two of the large plates. We are visiting from out of town but would come back here next time.
