We were very hungry. Been craving brisket and barbecue. The brisket was very disappointing. It was too dry. My husband thought the same. He makes brisket and if his turned out this way, I would say it was a fail. But it never hurts to give something a try. We won’t be back though.

The food, service, and atmosphere here is great! It’s not the best bbq I’ve ever had but it’s definitely better than Schoepf’s bbq. I tried the plate combo with sliced brisket and sausage. I chose the Mac n cheese and potato salad as my two sides. I definitely finished my plate and would return here again to do the same! Come support this local business!

Fantastic barbecue the sausage and brisket were awesome. Beans were also great. Prices are pretty darn good in this economy and couldn’t recommend it more. Stop in and throw a lip over that barbecue. You’ll be happy you did.

Insanely quick service, cordial staff and lovely meat. The turkey was so juicy, the green beans were seasoned throughly and still had stock (not dry) and the Mac n cheese was addicting. Everything tasted fresh, natural, and beautiful. As for the meals, they even give you some bread on the side and extra pickles and onions per request.
Lots of uncultured people on here in the Google reviews claiming they “don’t season enough” … well, they literally leave out big bottles of seasonings on the tables for you if it’s not enough.
However, good chefs understand good cooking is about simplicity, when you have too many different seasonings you distract the natural flavor of the food.
The prices were great too, $33 for two big plates of meat and sides as well as a drink. As far as inflation and considering the meats are of genuine quality I believe this is beyond reasonable.
Would most certainly recommend this place to anyone stopping by Temple.

Had the trash plate. Plenty of food for 2 to share. Fries, chopped brisket, sausage sliced, beans, pickles, onions, and it is good. Sausage just ok. Got sides of potatoes salad & coleslaw & they were both good. Free refills on drinks. Also the place has a meat counter & sales meat.

This is about as good as it gets for some real Texas barbecue. The trash plate is top notch with their homemade barbecue sauce. A layer of Fritos, baked beans, pork, and sausage. The Mac and cheese is creamy and will hit the spot. The ribs and chicken are juicy and flavorful. And the staff are a great bunch of friendly people who you can tell love their job. This is an awesome spot to get some great food and 7-12 dollars a plate!!

My favorite bbq spot in Temple, the service is quick and they have fresh meats cooked every day. The staff is very friendly, I recommend their ribs and turkey combo, their banana pudding for dessert is amazing.

Ordered brisket and sausage about a pound of each with cold slaw to go. Service was good. I was about 5 PM. Takeout. The brisket was mainly the outer edge, charged black and dry, sausage skin was super dry and unchewable. Guess I was late close to closing and got the leftover. Didn’t I should have watch what they were packing for me. At home my wife and I both agreed and tossed it in the trash. Fifty dollars wasted. Had to go elsewhere to eat.

Best BBQ in the area. Great helpful courtesy staff. Love the flavor an the brisket an sausage. Not to much of smoke. A a big size portion of meat. Potato salad is awesome. To bad I didn’t get the banana pudding. But I’ll be back. The plate in the pic is called the trash plate. Fully load with everything.
