We had an amazing experience at BESHOCK Ramen East! The ramen was flavorful and perfectly cooked, with fresh ingredients that really hit the spot. The atmosphere is stylish and inviting, blending Japanese vibes with a Cali twist. Our waiter was absolutely class—super friendly, attentive, and gave great recommendations on the sake menu without being pushy. And surprisingly, the restroom was spotless and well-maintained, nothing like the dingy ones you find at other spots—definitely a pleasant surprise! Highly recommend for a top-notch meal. 5 stars all the way!

I got nausea and diarrhea from the oysters unfortunately. Everything started off great, the cocktail I ordered was delish, the bluefin sashimi tasted super fresh and the dirty fries were generous with chashu. I had a dozen of the oysters and could only finish seven because they were massive. I have never had a good experience with large oysters like these, I stick to a certain size for quality. It’s like when you buy the big chicken breast from a supermarket, it’s always off and not the best you can get. It was definitely the seventh oyster that messed me up, I knew it right after I tasted the murky white slime and saw the residue on the shell. I knew I was going to get sick. Two hours later, everything I had came up and my poor bowels are going through it. Everything else was solid though.

Wanted some ramen and this was closest to where I was staying downtown so decided to check it out. Food was decent. Servers were friendly and the atmosphere was great.

Tried the black tiger rainbow and sunset roll. Presentation was lovely on both plates. While I did like the black tiger rainbow roll I would go back for the sunset roll. The sunset roll has unique flavor and I loved the mango on top with the sause that made it the right amount of spicy.

Really a great place. We had multiple sushi rolls and appetizers all of them were delicious. Yellow tail, salmon avocado, black tiger rainbow , and shrimp tempura. It was all so good that we ordered a bowl of ramen. I do highly recommend that you go here.

Was here visiting San diego… during the trip we made a stop here … upon arrival, ( at about 815pm) we (a group of 6) were seated immediately on a Thursday night and 2 minutes after being seated we were greeted by one of the waitresses. She gave us all waters within 5 minutes and took our orders. I did not get her name but she was very helpful, being that it was our first time visiting a place like this… I ordered the “basic” California roll. But let me tell you, IT WAS AMAZING! I also tried the eel as well… very delicious. I give the California roll a 10/10. That was easily the best sushi I’ve ever had . The eel I give an 8/10. The environment was very chill as there is music being played with nice lighting and the location is great. The place is near a city mart and it’s surrounded by many apartment buildings. If you’re ever in the area, and are looking for Ramen and sushi… this is definitely the place to go.

The food was SO GOOD! I wish I remembered our server’s name because he was amazing! Very knowledgeable & we had a great conversation with him! (34, blonde, from Chicago) The drinks were made perfect as well!

Best experience ever! The food is incredibly flavorful—I could easily try the entire menu if I could. The service was amazing, and the restaurant was spotless. The broth was especially delicious, full of depth and richness. Everything was exceptional, and I can’t wait to come back next time I’m in the area. Definitely a must-try if you’re in San Diego!

What’s crazy is I’ve lived in the East Village for nearly three years and had never tried Beshock until now. But I’m so glad I did.

Service was excellent (thank you, Chris!), the food was delicious, all set in a rustic, modern, charming dining space.

I went for lunch and was blown away by their lunch sets. You basically pick an entrée and then choose a side, pork bun, curry rice bowl, or temaki hand roll, priced from $15 to $25. Of course, this is plenty for lunch, but me being me, I ordered a few extras.

I started with the Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice. Delicious, although the rice could have been crispier (it was kind of gummy). The Yellowtail Crudo was excellent. Their dressing was so light it let the taste of the fish shine through, and it did. Rounding out the appetizers were their stellar Housemade Pork Gyoza, so plump and oh-so juicy! Almost on par with a soup dumpling, just incredible.

For lunch, I chose the Tonkotsu Black Ramen and a Mini Pork Chashu Bowl. In hindsight, I shouldn’t have done this, it was just too much pork. Both were delicious on their own, with bouncy noodles and a perfectly cooked egg in the ramen. But together, it was overload. Next time, I’ll choose something lighter to pair with the ramen. In any case, both dishes were expertly made.

After skipping most of the mini bowl, I ordered a Black Tiger Rainbow Roll, and I’m glad I did. Rainbow rolls are my favorite, and this one was up there in terms of freshness and execution. What really stood out was how crisp and crunchy the cucumbers were. Usually, they’re slimy and flavorless, but here they excelled and were a major player, rather than just supporting cast.

Beshock also has a rotating IPA tap, which is great if you like trying new beers. I had the Tarantula Brewery Hazy IPA, smooth with a surprisingly low IBU for a hazy. I hope it’s still available next time I visit.

Now that I know Beshock is only a few blocks from my place, I’m happy to say I’ll probably become a regular. I’m looking at you, happy hour!

I enjoyed my time here! The restaurant is pretty chill and laid back, but very clean and cute. I ordered the Ube Mai Tai. It was very different. The foam had a very sweet/vanilla taste and it paired well with the liquid part of the drink. Once the foam dissolved into the drink, it all blended well. I ordered the Chicken Paitan and requested a medium spice level be added. It was all very delicious. I didn’t love that the chicken didn’t have any seasoning. It didn’t sit in the broth long enough to have any flavor. I could’ve done without it. The broth was super flavorful though. I would’ve enjoyed it better with no chicken. I also ordered the California Roll. It has real snow crab so I couldn’t pass on it lol and I’m glad that I didn’t because it was delicious. I’d come whenever I’m back in town
