I had the worst experience with Bento Boss yesterday when my partner and I went out for lunch. we ordered Pho for him and sushi for myself with fried chicken to share. The miso soup to be eaten with my sushi was brought out 20 minutes before the sushi was out I couldn’t be bothered to take a pic of my bento box).
We are returning customers as we have been coming back here countless of times since 2024. It used to be one of our favourite restaurants. However, how can I possibly come back when my food is out after his 15 minutes repeatedly for over 3 times already? I used to work in restaurants as well and I know that the timing for all the food should be around 2-3 minutes from each other. I can accept 5 mins (when they’re busy) but no more than that. The fact that this constantly happens means that they are not aware of service timing and how much this affects customers. We came to enjoy the food together, I didn’t come to see my partner eating.
I thought it was a very nice place and even brought my friends here before. But after yesterday I have had enough of this inconsiderate behaviour. I lost my appetite completely and couldn’t stand being at a restaurant where I wasn’t being considered. Not a single apology when they brought the food out.
Also, if you come here for Pho, as a Vietnamese, I do not recommend.

When I asked to have my teriyaki chicken (pictured) made spicy, my server was happy to help. The roasted pork noodle soup was also incredible! Truly the best I’ve had in Bristol to date with a wonderful view to accompany it.

This was my second visit to this restaurant, and once again, it exceeded expectations. I tried the spicy minced pork and chashu udon—it was absolutely delicious, with a very generous portion for just £14. The bowl was packed with chashu and minced pork. We also had the duck bao bun, which was soft, tasty, and fun to assemble ourselves.
The service was excellent, and the staff were incredibly friendly. This is easily one of my favourite Japanese restaurants in Bristol. They also offer an impressive selection of sake. Located in the heart of Clifton, in a lively and bustling area, it’s a spot you definitely shouldn’t miss.

Having previously enjoyed meals from here, I recently purchased a takeaway away order for collection. However on returning home, we noticed that an item in the order was incorrect and had been replaced by something that was worth half the value.
We were initially told that we were incorrect, as the member of staff who packed the order recalled packing the “correct” item, meaning that we had to send photo evidence to show that we were not lying and the member of staff was in fact wrong. Then despite agreeing to refund the difference, we have still not received a refund two weeks on despite having chased this with the manager.
So whilst the food is lovely, when they get your order correct, be prepared for poor customer service when they make a mistake and zero effort from them to address the issue once they have your money in their pocket!
