Literally the worst experience I’ve ever had. I had a 7:15 pm reservation for my birthday and ended up being rushed out before I finished my dinner at 10 pm (their closing time). Their restrooms are disgusting and smelled bad from the lobby so waiting wasn’t fun at all.

This place is horrifying, ridiculously bad General manager, in shambles. DO NOT GO EVER! See pictures attached. It used to be a phenomenal place for decades. NOT ANYMORE! I rarely write reviews but when I have in the past every other one is 5 stars for incredible customer service and happy to take my time. First ever negative review because it was that bad. Reservation was at 2:15 got sat at 3:30 and GM was a dishonest and rude human being! Food was cooked so poorly at table next to us they refused to pay and didn’t touch the food. So many restaurants in Troy to choose from. Quite frankly I would eat 7-11 roller food or gas station food or starve before going back!

Food has gone downhill. Prices increase but the food got worse. I ordered the tuna steak MEDIUM RARE. I received it well done and it didn’t taste good and had no flavor. The “veggies” it came with was so acidic and tasted just like vinegar and was not a good combo. It was served with a side of vinegar for what . Rest of the food was okay, just wish it was better

Made reservations last night and did not even get seated for about 40 minutes. We were grouped up with a family, no big deal however the family smelled like marijuana and the kids were throwing fits the entire time. Our waitress was nice however we only saw her a total of two times and was more helpful with the other family. Our chef did not entertain us, he simply just cooked. Not once did her interact with any of the guest. The only reason this place received one star from me is because the food was good but typical. Overall, I wouldn’t be coming back, at least to this location. For being located in Troy, it sure brought in a very trashy crowd. I do not recommend.

After driving by for 18 years, I made a reservation with a friend. My question is, why did I wait so long? Wow, amazing experience. There was plenty of room at the table with the others at the table. The food was amazing with a great presentation and good service. I went home with leftovers. I didn’t realize they charge for the fried rice with shrimp as an extra. But it was well worth it. I will not wait 18 years to return.

Not a fan, you come here for the experience but our chef was boring and the food was mediocre. However our server was adequate. The portions were off, my friend and I were served 3 little shrimp, while other people at the table received more than us. Can get better quality Japanese teppanyaki-style food elsewhere.

I ordered take out and the meal was a child size. The cucumber rolls were not even fully rolled and the salad was warm and soggy. All for $60!! Not to mention, the online ordering system didn’t allow me to use a gift card. Additionally, when I had to call my order in, the prices were completely different than online prices. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!

This place has really declined over the last 20 years. The food is still good. However, I noticed the shrimp looked a little rough and undersized. My steak and lobster were good. My main issue is that the atmosphere, service, and food are just not good enough to justify 50$ a person to dine

First time visiting so I was excited. Took an hour an half to be seated. Finally seated, table really tight for 12 people. Large table next to us dirty and there are gnats flying around. Not GOOD!!!! Chef was awesome he did a great job. Food was excellent it just took a while to get. The only problem was the gnats probably due to the dirty tables. Definitely a problem to me, tables should be cleaned immediately to prevent this as well as it affects the customer experience. Waiter was attentive but I felt rushed since it was closing time. Overall experience was FAIR. Customers should never have to point out dirty table and gnats. Management needs to address this issue immediately and it was pointed out by me to chef,waiter, and older man Manager. Seemed unbothered by it!!!!!!!!!!!If you look at my pictures this is why a napkin is covering my drink to prevent any gnats from getting in it. So Please Benihana’s Fix This ♀️ ♀️ ♀️ ♀️

I gathered my entourage and treated them to a dinner and it definitely was a experience that boosted moral and strengthened our bond. The food is so good that it feels wrong to eat anywhere else now. The bathrooms even smelled good. The entire building was immaculate. Go now and live life then go again Cha!
