I had an amazing experience at BeetleCat. We sat at the bar and Devin took care of us, and he was incredible. Friendly, attentive, and talented. Every drink he made was perfect.

We ordered the mussels, the lobster roll, and the crab roll, and everything was delicious. The mussels were honestly the best I have ever had. The mezcal espresso martini was smooth and rich, and the spicy margarita had the right balance of heat and flavor.

The atmosphere was fun, the service was impeccable, and the food and drinks were top tier. I will definitely be back.

A total vibe. Ate down in the den. Drinks were flowing, food had a good selection of food. Lobster knuckles are a good option in terms of flavor. Fish was a bit underwhelming in terms of seasoning and flavor. The bartender Thai/Tye/Tai was exceptional in terms of suggestions and convo. Definitely worth a return visit.

I am pretty sure I have made my last visit to this restaurant.

The restaurant has been reported to have the best lobster rolls according to Maine’s Down East Magazine. I am going to respectfully disagree that they have the best lobster rolls.

I have dined at this restaurant on at least 3 different occasions. I am not really sure why I keep returning, because I never leave feeling as though I had a great dining experience.

Let’s start off with the good:
The restaurant decor is always nice. During the holidays they even decorate the bottom area with festive decor. They have a. Nice patio too. The service has always been good !

The not so good:
To start I hate coming to this area. Parking is always an issue. While you can find street parking, if you park in a garage you will be paying to park! The main area of concern is that the food is just ok to me. I have tried everything from brunch to the lobster rolls. Nothing has left me wanting it again! The lobster roll is just not the best. I am unable to pinpoint what is missing. It just does not do it for me.

I am a huge fan of seafood. Unfortunately this spot does not come to mind when I think about the best seafood in the city .

Definitely quite pricey but the food and drinks were fantastic! The chef sent out fresh oysters for us to try and they were excellent, I actually didn’t like oysters until now. Jill was a very attentive server and helped me decide what to order. I would definitely come back here to celebrate another special occasion while in the city. All of the seafood seemed very fresh and high quality.

There is no such thing as a bad Ford Fry restaurant but Beetlecat is always the perfect mix of good food and semi casual vibes. Landon was our server tonight and he was incredible. Kind, great recs, and patient while we asked many questions.

And the oysters were top notch as always.

I got the lobster roll as it had so many positive reviews, but found it lacking in flavor and value (as it’s tiny served on a slider bun). The service was great, vibes nice and drinks solid so I’ll give it another shot with maybe the redfish next time. But wouldn’t recommended spending $40+ on a herb deficient lobster slider.

Upon one ordinary weekday, I have successfully completed my transit to the doors of the BeetleCat waging war on Atlanta traffic. One can be struck by the agreeable warmth of its lower chamber, a glow not unlike that of a well tended hearth in winter. The ceilings rest low, the light falls kindly upon wood and brass, and the whole place feels intimate, compact and possessed of a certain domestic charm. It is a place that invites confidences spoken softly and meals taken without haste.

Ascending thence, however, the atmosphere alters perceptibly. The upper room is cast in cooler hues, broader in aspect, and bears a countenance somewhat more commercial, more polished, composed, and faintly impersonal. One cannot help but speculate whether this contrast be deliberate: below deck, convivial familiarity; above, urbane propriety.

We had set our intentions upon the happy hour, yet the traffic of a common weekday in Atlanta proved most uncharitable. Delayed and defeated by the thoroughfares, we arrived too late to partake in those modest indulgences of oyster and ale at favourable tariff. I confess I remain curious as to how such simple fare, a briny oyster and a well-drawn beer, might present itself in this establishment.

The fish and chips merit quite a commendation. Indeed, among the better renditions in Atlanta have I encountered here. The batter, crisp and golden, surrendered with a most satisfying fracture, revealing within fish of tender flake and wholesome steam. It is offered at a rather stout price; yet excellence, it seems, has little inclination toward apology.

A cocktail styled the “Zombie” was also procured a curious and potent draught of tropical persuasion. Beneath its playful airs lurked considerable strength. The lady found it quite agreeable, which alone suffices for its praise.

BeetleCat does not aspire to the rough honesty of a seaside shack. It is instead curated, intentional, and not without theatrical flourish. Yet beneath the refinement lies substance: seafood prepared with care, libations thoughtfully composed and a dual character that, by some artifice, coexists in harmony.

On a future evening, I shall endeavour to outwit the city’s traffic and secure my place below, with oysters and beer before me and my lady, a modest ritual, yet perhaps the truest expression of the house.

Came in for brunch and had a glazed donut, lobster roll and the shrimp and avocado salad, the biscuits and a side of fries. The. glazed. donut. was. SO. Delicious. It was just made, crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, the glaze was the perfect amount of sweetness. Best donut I’ve ever had. The lobster roll was good. I like their choice bread, would order without the aioli next time. The salad was good as well but the donut was really the star for me. Would definitely come back. Want to visit for dinner too, their menu sounds really good.

Other things to note: the staff was super kind and welcoming, very knowledgable and accommodating for allergies. And they have indoor and outdoors seating.

Excellent experience at brunch today. Lobster roll was delicious, shrimp and avocado salad was perfect for sharing and so thankful they didn’t let us leave without trying a doughnut.
