Delicious! Had an amazing team Christmas dinner at the Beehive. Second time here and it was just as good as I remembered (honey pie might have been better!). Quaint, cozy tavern. It was about and hour and a half drive from Portsmouth but totally worth it. Didn’t take the ferry this time as we were on a bus but did that last time and saved a few minutes of driving and worth the experience. Dinner was excellent had the sea scallop and borrowed a bite of the sea bass from my wife. Also enjoyed pretty much every app on the menu, aranchini was my favorite. And talk about hard choices. Honey pie or creme brulee. I went with the former and it was awesome. Others at table like creme brulee and a few even split the oversized chocolate cake. Service was on point, kept the table refreshed but didn’t hurry us at all. Great time and can’t wait to go back, thanks.

I was visiting the distillery, as I’m guessing many do who come here to eat.. I arrived Friday afternoon and decided to have lunch here. The atmosphere was phenomenal. Extremely impressive for small town living. Macey was my server she was extremely attentive and made sure everything was just so. I had the chicken salad sandwich, which was exquisite paired with their house chips. It was a large portion and a very fair price. I decided to stay for a drink afterwards and I wish I could remember the bartender’s name, but her daughter works there as well. She made the finest Manhattan I’ve had in quite some time. Prior to leaving I made dinner reservations for this evening. Reservations were at 7 ironically I sat at the same table I had lunch at upstairs. This time my server was Natalie. Like Macey she was as attentive and very thorough making sure that everything was just right for me. From the hostess, who greeted me and remembered me from the day before to the service to the food, I couldn’t have had better anywhere else. I will certainly be back.

This restaurant is a staple of Augusta!! I recommend stopping in when you are in town. It is very relevant in the town and is beautiful on the inside and outside.

It is perched right on the riverfront and it is a precious, picturesque restaurant. The inside is absolutely beautiful and has a lot of places to sit.

The service was great! Our server was super kind and full of insight on the menu. I ended up getting the hot brown and it was DELICIOUS! The experience all around was lovely and I highly recommend.

My husband made a lunch reservation to celebrate my birthday – with a Augusta Distillery experience after.

Everything from start to finish was phenomenal – view, service, drinks, entrees and dessert!

Both ordered a bourbon smash – his peach – mine blackberry + peach. Both were well balanced and delicious.

He said his steak sandwich was the best he’s ever had.

The Hot Brown was also very good.

Weve never had honey pie before and typically dont order dessert but, they offered a complimentary slice as we were celebrating my birthday and its quite amazing – a combination of honey custard a crunchy oatmeal nutty crust and creme brulee crust on top!

Honestly, the pie alone is worth the trip!

Love the beehive been going here for years. Last night we had the pleasure of being served by April and Ross. As usually the hive never fails to deliver food atmosphere and lovely drinks. I know for those off of 275 or 27 it’s a bit of a drive but so are different places in Ohio. The town is fun the drive along the river is beautiful, take the time and visit this gem.

We had a wonderful dinner at Beehive on a Friday night and enjoyed it so much we came back on Saturday too! Ross was our server on Saturday and he was so friendly and gave great recommendations. Katie was so helpful with tips and was overall just a kind person during both of our visits.
I cannot recommend the berry salad, short rib and risotto enough! The scallops were also very good. We had reservations both nights and were seated right away, and it was super easy to create a reservation online.

Stopped in The Beehive a little after 1:00pm and thought we may have to wait but they were able to get us in right away. While she was preparing our table, we checked out their bourbon selection and it did not disappoint, plenty of low, mid and top level options were available. We were promptly seated. Waitress was very friendly but forgot to take our drink orders and by the time she came back with our salad, we had changed our minds on ordering drinks (I like to sip and enjoy my drink, not guzzle). Cesar salad was a typical Cesar salad, hubby said it had a slight fishy taste (the cesar dressing may have had anchovies but we didnt have a chance to ask, our waitress never came back to check on us) Next up, delivered by a young man (not our waitress) we had a Reuben and Saratoga chips. The reuben was made just right, not over toasted, just enough sauerkraut to taste but not overbearing and just enough dressing to taste so it gets a 5*. Saratoga chips were good, but no seasoning, next time I would add a side of BBQ sauce (if available) or ranch dressing for dipping. Overall the experience was good, the food was good but the waitress was not very attentive, she was very friendly but disappeared for long periods of time. She may have been waitressing a lot of other tables (we were in the front, small room so couldn’t see what all she might have been doing). It was definitely worth the stop in while in the area. We explore the Bourbon Trail and try new places all the time, so if you are in the area, definitely stop in and give them a try. Prices were very reasonable. Sidenote: when they young man delivered our food he had a smashburger in the other hand and it looked delicious. The couple next to us said it tasted even better than it looked.

Enjoy our visit. Recommend making a reservation, we didn’t. So we sat at the bar and had a wonderful drink and decided to just eat there. Enjoy the fish tacos and spinach and artichoke dip.

What a charming little restaurant right on the Ohio River!!! There is a bar on the first floor for drinking or waiting for your table.

We made reservations, but I’m sure they could have taken walk-ins at the time, because the dining areas were not full. However, we wanted second floor balcony and thought reservations might help secure that. Other dining options include: inside on the first floor or second floor, and first floor sidewalk.

We had a beautiful view of the Ohio River. And, the weather was perfect for dining outdoors.

The food was incredible. We started off with fried green tomatoes. For the entree my husband and I selected the fried chicken. (THE BEST I have ever eaten!!! Boneless with just the right amount of breading, deep fried to the perfect crispness, hot, juicy and tender. SO GOOD!!!) It came with two sides. I chose carrots and brussel sprouts. He chose mashed potatoes and carrots. We also received rolls with butter, apricot jam and honey. And, because it was highly recommended by someone we met on the distillery tour, we ordered the honey pie for dessert and shared it. I’m going to pass on that recommendation right here…don’t leave the restaurant without trying it yourself. It is heavenly!

The staff members were friendly and helpful, and very attentive. It was such a pleasant experience, I want to return with family and friends.

This was a wonderful Father’s Day surprise!
A great find in a small town..

Great service, clever décor, efficiently managed. Excellent food exquisitely prepared ‍ and plated. ️

It is a short simple menu but the choices are fantastic. The specialty bourbon drinks are very unique.

I like a restaurant that has real cloth napkins!
And does not use store-bought paper towels in the bathroom.
They have real nice heavy paper ones like the kind in nice hotels

Funny thing .
It is possible to be confused going to the bathroom .
Very cleverly designed.

I recommend making a reservation and I suggest sitting upstairs outside on the patio overlooking the Ohio River.
They do not overbook here. They carefully manage the amount of people balanced with their employees.
They do not overload the staff. Very impressive .

I also suggest getting an appetizer and a cocktail while waiting for your food.
