Get the Prison Mike! The deli meat was amazing! This is definitely my new favorite sandwich shop in the downtown area! My sandwich was made quick and the price was just right for what I ordered! It’s a little tucked away and you might drive by it the first time so keep your eyes peeled! Make sure you look at their hours before you trying swinging by for a dinner sandwich! The owner was awesome and extremely welcoming too!

This was my 2nd or 3rd time at BW and once again, it did not disappoint. BW offers great options with high quality ingredients and each sandwich has had a ton of flavor to it. I’ve never had a long wait going in, and the sandwiches are made fresh and very fast. Definitely a great addition to the downtown options. Check them out.

You have to try this place! We ordered the ATTRM and the “do you trust me” (different sandwich every time someone orders it). At first it looks like a solid sandwich. But it was the BEST sandwich. The meat quality makes such a huge difference. As for the other sandwich, it was some play on a meatball sub with ricotta spread. I kind of hate meatball subs, but this was AMAZING. I kept stealing bits from my husband. And I swear the owner knew almost everyone that walked in. It’s like he builds relationships with his customers. Highly recommend this place.

I’ve been wanting to try Bearwolf for a while, and I’m so happy I finally got the chance!
I ordered delivery through a third-party delivery app. I left special instructions on each sandwich (two of which were just asking for extra onions), but the third was for my son, who is undergoing chemotherapy and what sounded good to him was just ham and mayo…nothing else. Josh called me (through the delivery app) to ask if I wanted his coppa ham or if my son would prefer regular ham (not his, but still good quality). After he explained the differences between the two, I decided on the regular ham (I’m looking forward to trying the coppa ham next time on my sandwich). Josh promised to make a great sandwich for my son, and he delivered on that promise. My son was thrilled and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Now, to the meat of my review (haha, I amuse myself sometimes). My husband ordered the Ultimate Combo, and I ordered the Chicky Chicky Bang Bang, along with one potato salad and one mac salad. Taking the picture for my review was the longest wait of my life. First, I tried the mac salad and then the potato salad. Both were equally delicious and bursting with flavor. We decided to split our sandwiches so we could each have half. I started with Chicky Chicky Bang Bang…..absolutely delicious! The meats are moist and flavorful. The produce was fresh and crisp, and the spreads were to die for. I inhaled my half of the sandwich. Lastly, but certainly not least, it was time for me to try the Ultimate Combo. Simply put, it was delicious. But there was so much more to it than that. Each bite was the perfect combo (haha, still amusing myself) of balanced deliciousness. There was a slight kick to the sauce, which really brightened the sandwich up and those pickles…..which I’m assuming were housemade, offered a bit of sweetness that paired beautifully with the meats, sauces and fresh veggies.
Bottom-line: I will be back for more and soon! I’m thinking tomorrow since it’s Friday for the pastrami special.
A slight takeaway from my experience: order an extra sandwich for later. Trust me, you’ll be thanking me later. I didn’t do it this time, and we ate everything, so I’ll be taking my own advice going forward.
Anyone visiting Salem should definitely try Bearwolf during their stay. This is an amazing gem of Salem.

Bearwolf is Salem’s best hidden gem by a mile. The sandwiches are hefty and packed with flavor. The meats are prepared, cured, smoked, sliced in house. Honestly, and I mean this as a compliment, they probably read the meats bedtime stories and tuck them in at night. That’s how special this place is, and you can taste it.
Each sandwich has the perfect combination of meats thoughtfully paired with fresh bread, cheeses, vegetables, herbs, and condiments. Many of the condiments are housemade too, and they’re things you don’t see often. Everything is just perfect. The menu is a great balance between consistent mainstays and fun surprises, so you can have a “regular” but also switch it up. They do rotating specials, both cold and (occasionally) hot sandwiches, and every single one I’ve tried has been fantastic, unique, and memorable.
Don’t want a sandwich? Housemade soup and sides! I have never before craved broccoli cheddar soup but then I tried Bearwolf’s and now it’s all I think about.
Literally everything they make is 10/10. Many things they make are even better than 10/10. I cannot say enough good things about Bearwolf.

Simply put this is the best sandwich spot in town. Salem is run by fast food sandwiches, with a lot of processed meats and breads, Bearwolf is the opposite. Everything is either curated by the team or acquired the right away. You must try their food, everything is good. Go now.

All of the meats made in house, which lends it’s flavors not only unique, but flavorful from the source. Spreads were great on my sandwich “The Cutsman” and “Sticky Bird” with it’s tomato-basil jam. The mac salad was fresh with pickled items and peppers, and we were greeted heartily and the person making the sandwich was the owner, and was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and gave us everything needed for our meal. The location is a fairly nice spot, and the inside is as straightforward as possible with great descriptions on the menu, and descriptions of the meat. This spot will be livened up over time, and already has me wanting to go back many many times to try the sandwiches that are as unique as Salem itself. The Hoagie/Bread Roll is fantastic, soft yet has an outside crunch and toast that gives the rest of the ingredients a great lift. This is a “Do Not Miss” spot in Salem. Can’t wait to go back.

We finally had a chance to try this place, and we were not disappointed! We had the Italian and the house-made pastrami (pictured here), and both were excellent. High quality meat and bread. Very friendly service. We will definitely be back.
