We were delighted to see a new food truck in Kula ~ Bearded BBQ. I met Chef Ray earlier this week, and was so pleased he was open on Memorial Day.

Stopped by after a long day at Haleakala national park. The chicken was absolutely amazing, very tender and flavourful. Ribs get two thumbs up as well. BBQ sauce is good kind of sour, very unlike the overly sweet BBQ sauce you get some times. Soy egg was a bit on the hard side though. Overall will definitely come again.

Awesome smokey,bbq goodness! Rey is a good guy and the food he serves is amazing ! The ribs are delicious and smokey. The chicken is awesome! The sausage is really good and he makes them ! Highly recommend for a good filling meal. Will be back

this man knows what he’s doing with all of his offerings. His brisket and his whole chicken, are my favorite, but I have had it all, What I like about his stuff is that barbecue sauces are not too heavy or sweet, he uses more vinegar, in some of the sauces, his coleslaw is unique, and he’s an all-around great chef, not just a barbecue pitmaster. Try his keto bowls with one meat on top. They’re my latest favorite.

I don’t think you can get bbq this smokey and delicious anywhere on Maui. I got the pulled pork and chicken. Both were really yummy and surprisingly different in flavor. Both the Mac and cheese and bbq bean sides were so good. Im seriously stoked on this place. The plate was 18$ and it was worth it. I cant wait to try something new.

How awesome to find some good Midwest barbeque in Maui. The meats were delicious, and we were impressed with the different sides offered, like kimchi, pickles, and soy pickled egg. There were a lot of other options, like rice bowls, so we’d definitely be back!

We had a great experience at Bearded BBQ, from Ray’s genuine, warm smile and service, to the food we ordered. Our favorites were the Mac and cheese and the ribs. He does a good Cole slaw with Hawaiian sea salt so there’s an extra salty kick! Ray makes great food and was very patient in waiting for us to make up our minds on the lunch plate!
