Delicious food. We have been returning often since it’s quick, cheap, delicious and close to my dad’s place of treatment. We highly recommend rhe fried shrimp salad or even the fried shrimp burger. The all american double cheese burger was also a good choice too, my dad is always ordering it. I recently tried the fried shrimp platter and I have to admit the shrimp are so bit, at least 3 bites each for me, that I couldn’t even finish half of them. Service is wonderful and pretty fast. Just make sure to get there before the lunch rush because they fill up quickly.

10 out of 10! I had the fried seafood platter. My husband has the fried shrimp. It was absolutely delicious! We sat on the front screened in porch by ourselves and listened to the rain at 1:30 in the afternoon. They had constant business. It looks like a hole in the wall restaurant, but do not letlooksdeceive you! It is worth the stop and the money!!

Got a recommendation from a nice gentleman on the beach who used to live here. Did not disappoint! The seafood boil special and fried shrimp were fantastic. Photo is after eating on the plate for a bit.

Best kept secret in Bayou Labatre! Visited today (8/17/24) and got 2 shrimp platters. These are officially my favorite shrimp in Mobile County. HUGE shrimp, endless flavor, and the freshest you’ll find anywhere. We’ll definitely be back!

UPDATE- Returned on 3/28/25, and the shrimp were next to awful. They were fried in plain flour, and the fried weren’t seasoned this time. There’s a visible visual difference between the first visit and our last visit. We’ve been several times in between, but this was the worst. Crab claws were good. Crawfish were just ok. If this was my first visit for the shrimp, I’d probably never go back. Highly disappointed since we spent over $100. It’ll be a while before I’m brave enough to drive 40 minutes to visit again. 5 stars dropped to 3.

Best fried shrimp I’ve ever had! My husband and I both love fried shrimp and this was as good as any I’ve eaten. Big and perfectly cooked. We bought 6lbs to take home! The place is small and plain but the food is special!

I had stopped ordering softshell crabs out years ago. I always got paper shells. Your waitress assured me they were top notch and I got the best poboy EVER!.
The gumbo was primo (& my Mom was born in BLB).
The shrimp were huge and, although the batter was a bit too spicy for my taste, this place gets 5 stars. A real hidden gem!

Had a late lunch on a Thursday afternoon. We both ordered the fried shrimp with fries and slaw. The shrimp were huge and delicious. Hot and fresh cooked. We couldn’t eat all the fries and slaw we were so full. It’s a must eat as the food was fabulous and reasonable. It has a very small inside dining area which could really use some cleaning (look up). Health dept rating was 98.

While in the area, we found this place in google maps as decided to stop as it seemed to be highly rated. It didn’t disappoint. Growing up on the gulf coast we’ve had our share of shrimp, but theirs was probably the best fried shrimp I’ve ever had. My daughter had the boiled shrimp platter and it was equally good. The boiled shrimp practically fell out of the shell and were perfectly done and not overcooked in the slightest. It’s a very small place and I would have totally missed it just driving by.

Well worth the stop if you’re in the area.

This plate is exactly why coastal detours are worth it.

From the moment it hits the table, you know you’re in for something special. The shrimp are impressively large, fried to a deep golden crunch that shatters just enough before giving way to sweet, juicy meat inside. Each bite is perfectly seasoned—confident but not overpowering—letting the natural flavor of the shrimp shine through. These aren’t filler shrimp; they’re the kind you remember.

The sausage brings a smoky, savory backbone to the plate, rich and satisfying, while the potatoes soak up every bit of flavor around them. Whether crisped on the outside or tender all the way through, they round everything out in the best possible way—comforting, hearty, and deeply Southern.

What really seals the deal is the feeling of the place itself. It’s small, out of the way, and exactly the kind of spot you’d drive past if you didn’t know better—but once you do, you make a point to come back. Every single time. When I’m down at the coast, this stop isn’t optional; it’s tradition. Plates like this are the reason locals keep secrets—and why some are absolutely worth discovering.

Gulf coast locals and we only eat seafood outside our home that we know is locally sourced. We stopped here today and had the gumbo and a seafood platter. I asked what kind of fish was on the platter and was immediately told it was triple tail, a local catch for sure. The shrimp and crab claws were absolutely the best I’ve ever had. Total price for 2 people was $45. We’ll definitely be back.
