A warm traditional Viennese restaurant! The ribs with the sause were more than delicious, the rose wine quite tasty and the Apfelstrudel simply divine! The staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. Although the restaurant is not located in the tourist part of Vienna, I highly recommend it!

The Bauernbräu offers traditional Austrian cuisine paired with an in-house brewing. The meals are authentic and very tasty. We tested two of their beers which were great and ordered the Wiener Gulasch and the classic Schnitzel. Both meals were delicious and very typical Austrian style. We had an Apfelstrudel and coffee for dessert. The coffee was good and the strudel came with vanilla sauce, which was good as well but I wish the apple filling had some more texture to it and came with raisins and walnuts as it is often served in good bakeries. The service was very pleasant and fast—the food was served in less than 10 minutes. The atmosphere is cosy and traditional with wooden tables and decorations. Clearly a great recommendation if you are looking for local cuisine. The only downside is that the location is not very central but it is close to the U6 subway station Gumpendorfer Straße. Overall a great experience and highly recommended.

Bauernbräu delivers both great food and attentive service. We ordered several classic Austrian dishes, and every one of them impressed us. The beef and boar were beautifully tender, paired with rich, flavourful sauces. Service was warm and thoughtful, with the staff checking in on us at just the right moments. Don’t miss their house-brewed beers, especially the dark beer, which is well worth trying.

You have to try this place if you are visiting Vienna and want some authentic Austrian food! We ate here twice it was so good. Never had a bad bite, and was one of the best meals we’ve had. We had the Wiener Schnitzel, Wild boar ragout, Käsespätzle, and Apple strudel. Everything was so delicious. Service was fast, we were seated right away each time, the staff are super nice and speak perfect English. They gave us a free little Mozart chocolate and wafer at the end of the meal. It’s a warm and cosy atmosphere with cute fairy lights. It was a convenient location because it was only a short walk from our hotel, so if you are staying at a nearby hotel definitely go here one evening for dinner, you won’t regret it. I did a lot of research before coming to Vienna on where to eat so I’m glad I picked this place based off of the good reviews. Prices are reasonable for such good food.

A truly authentic Austrian dining experience! We were served by 3 amazing waiters & the owner even popped by to say hi. A beautiful layout & a fair priced menu. The food was delicious & so were the desserts! We also had beer, wine & cocktails. A must dine at place! A true staple in the culinary scene of Vienna.

Had a wonderful experience here with the family. We didn’t have a reservation but the staff were able to secure us a great table. The atmosphere inside reminds you of a wirthaus – the beers were cold and delicious and the traditional food was cooked perfectly and was generous. The staff were positive and attentive and all up it made for a memorable experience. We would recommend for others particularly those seeking a traditional experience outside of the tourist trap areas.

Very nice Austrian restaurant. Almost everything on the menu sounded tasty and it was hard for me to decide. I ended up going with the cordon blue schnitzel and apple strudel. Both were very good and tasty. Portions are quite large as well. Food comes out quick and service is friendly. All in all a good experience here. I recommend.
