I hadn’t been to Austin in such a long time and I scoured Google trying to remember who sold “Jambalaya on a Stick” that I used to come from San Antonio to eat 4 or 5 years ago. Sad to see the “temporarily closed” alert after finally remembering the name of your truck. It’s hard to find food I consistently like, but your Jambalaya batons were always worth the trip. Sometimes it was the only reason I drove to Austin. I’m a little late on my review, but it’s well deserved nonetheless. Hope you find your way back to cooking up awesome food to make ends meet!

The BEST chicken sandwich I have ever had. Ingredients are fresh and food is made when ordered. The jambalaya on a stick is unique and full of flavor. Sausage is really good and the breading was crisp and prepared well. Every now and then we contemplate driving over an hour just for the food here because it is just that good. The two men working the inside were fun and friendly.

Baton Creole’s food was on point, and the service and energy that Adam brought to the table made this place a home run.

Baton Creole makes the best chicken sandwich I have ever had. Made from thighs because they understand this is the superior tasting piece of fried chicken. The breading is thick and crunchy but somehow light. Pimento spread so thick that it sticks around. Greens to to balance out the decadence. All piled high on a brioche bun. Holy smokes.

I loved that everything that said it was spicy was ACTUALLY spicy. Excellent vegan options that don’t taste like you’re sacrificing anything. Super cute locale with a chill vibe. Drinks are available from the bar it’s in the patio of

great takeout the night before new years. perfect comfort food for a cool rainy quarantine night. we had trouble picking (although the guy working was super helpful) so we ended up getting maybe more than we needed. etoufee excellent. will return when it’s nicer weather – the patio is lovely and open-air, but the sofa was beckoning us …

5 stars for the food, but we had a hell of a time finding this place. My friend and I are not from Austin, so we were expecting to come around to where the food truck was and order from it, but it was fenced in behind the bar in front, Shangrila. We then entered Shangrila, and noticed there were Baton Creole menus on each table, so we waited at the bar to order, only to be told we had to order at the truck in the lot behind the restaurant. We went through the back door (located on the left when you first walk in the restaurant) and ordered our food. So why would I give 5 stars? The food was sooo delicious. My friend got the gumbo with potato salad, and I got the vegan fried jambalaya on a stick. The vegan beignets were the best things I’ve ever had!!! I dream of them

We were looking to try a new food truck, and gave this place a shot. So glad we did. It’s a little confusing to find – it’s located in the back of the bar Shangri-la (you have to walk through the bar to get to it, there’s not another way around). Lots of picnic tables with sting lights. We tried the jambalaya, the crawfish etoufee, the side of crab boil potato salad, and the beignets – all of it was amazing! The jambalaya was creatively served in almost like a corn dog -like style on a stick – so good! Our favorite were the delicious beignets- perfect sweet end to the meal. And the girl that owns the truck is super nice. Will be back!

Laid back food truck behind Shangri-La. Friendly and quick around midnight on a Friday. The gumbo and etouffe were quite flavorful and rich, you could tell that roux dark as night. I’ve never been a huge fan of green bean casseroles but adding blackened chicken made it quite tasty!
