The Bates House of Turkey is a local treasure! Make sure to visit this spot when you are in Montgomery for a great meal and experience.
The store is located in an unassuming strip mall. However, there is a nice patio seating area for guests with umbrellas to protect from the sun. Inside the store, a shop area sells knickknacks as well as refrigerated turkey, pies and desserts to take home.
I got the Gobbler sandwich, which has cornbread stuffing and cranberry sauce for a Thanksgiving feel. They have both sandwiches and plates with turkey, which has some of the best roasted, meaty flavor I have ever had in a restaurant turkey! None of the dry, flavorless energy you might imagine for a turkey sandwich! They put a lot of meat on the sandwich, too. The pasta salad was also a standout.
100% recommend this spot for a perfect lunch in Montgomery!

Coming from a guy who thinks turkey is alright and hates mayonnaise with a passion…I had one of their sandwiches today, and it’s the best thing to grace my tastebuds this year. The family is amazing, the food is wonderful…and that homemade mayonnaise may have changed my life forever. I can’t recommend this place enough. Bates House of Turkey is the absolute best!!!

Ordered the turkey club, expecting a turkey club. Basically just got a double decker turkey sandwich. Bates needs to learn that a club sandwich has bacon, lettuce, tomato and mayo. Not just turkey and lettuce. It was good, just not a true club.

AWESOME! I stopped in while traveling for work. All I can say is that, I DEFINITELY will be making future trips with family and clients to experience Bates House of Turkey Montgomery AL! They are affordable, extremely sanitary and such a PLEASURABLE establishment. They provide prompt expedited lunch service and it doesn’t affect the quality of food or service. The Hickory Smoked Turkey sandwich with Pasta Salad is UNEXPLAINABLE DELICIOUS when paired. Keep up the good work and bring this type of food and service to the Oviedo, FL area. Been a fan of Greenville since I was a teenager going down 65 to the beach. Tried the Montgomery location this afternoon for the first time, and they did not disappoint.
I had the all-turkey club on wheat with chips, while my companion had the smoked turkey dinner with two sides. Everything was fresh and hit the spot.
Friendly staff, comfortable setting to eat, and a great experience all the way around.

Wasn’t the greatest of a turkey dinner. Rather bland, although healthy prepaeations and portions. Cost is fairly priced.
The dressing was sorta cornmeal gritty–to many, not fully cooked. The food was luke-warm.

This was my 1st time ever coming here (3 days ago/on Halloween)! They had professional and friendly customer service, with a great/welcoming atmosphere!
