I visited for the first time with family and the restaurant is clean and the atmosphere is nice. We arrived around 7:30 to 7:45 pm and had a little wait before someone came to take our order. Once the food arrived, we ate and all we all were in agreement the food was good however it was overcooked. This may have been due to our coming late so I am giving Basmati some leeway but hope during our second visit we won’t have the same experience. Beyond the overcooked food, I had no issue with this restaurant.

Despite reading all of the bad reviews on this place, I still gave them. The benefit of the doubt took me and my beautiful family to grab a bite to eat. After a long day.they are very racist in this place I waited outside for them to open up and when they did they told me and my family that we had to wait because the young lady was vacuuming the dining room floor I said OK I understand, but then a Caucasian lady and her daughter walked in. The owner instantly greeted them and told them that they can sit down immediately at a table. Remind you me and my family was there first I was told we had to wait the food is extremely overprice I paid like $19 apiece for those little small tiny bowls then they sent out one bowl of white rice for me and my daughter to share I paid for two not one and can someone please explain to me why the kids meals are $10 apiece at this place I watch my waiter going to serve the Caucasian family. Several times nonstop never came and asked us if we need a refill. Need anything he never asked if the food was good or nothing I had to look back at the owner just for the owner to make the guy come over there so I can pay for my tab. I could have been a food critic anything but they definitely let me know my money is not wanted noted it so to anybody that likes doing the right thing don’t go to this place at all don’t support this business at all. Very racist never again and it’s sad that this is where we have come to in 2023. We are constantly being judged off the color of your skin. It’s ridiculous to me. Every person in this entire world is different.

We love Basmati! Wonderful staff, wonderful food, wonderful atmosphere! Best Indian restaurant I’ve ever been too! Amazing plant based, vegan, and vegetarian options, as well as meat options. My partner and I can both find food we love. Been coming here and loving it since they opened. Moving out of state, and I’ll miss being able to drive over to Annapolis for the buffet. Great food, the grounded lamb was especially good. The staff was very friendly and accommodating for our large group. They pushed multiple tables together and sat us fast. I would recommend going here for great Indian food.

I had my birthday lunch/dinner at the Annapolis, Maryland restaurant with one of my best sister friends! We chose the lunch buffet! Yum! Yum! and Yum! I loved it all. The restaurant is quaint, clean and I loved the decor!!! I ate a little bit of everything on the lunch buffet!!! The staff was nice but one server did not speak clearly or articulate to my hearing! But, he was still pleasant. The tab $$$ for the lunch buffet was fine! I am definitely coming back!!!

Great local Indian restaurant serving up all of the classics. Whether you eat in or carry out the food will always hit the spot. The staff is organized and ready to serve you while the food is prepared quickly. Side note, the carry out portion sizes are typically larger than the dine in sizes. The butter chicken is the best I’ve had and I’m typically a tikka masala regular.

Great tasting traditional Indian food with huge portions that give great value for price. The cocktails were also well priced. One thing that struck me was the cleanliness. Staff would immediately clean even the smallest debris that wound up on the floor as soon as they saw it. Everyone was very kind and accommodating. My only constructive criticism was that we had three different people intermittently serving us, yet they would come right after one another when we didn’t need anything with long gaps in between when we did need something. A bit more coordination in service would be welcome. That being said, due to their kindness and the very frequent cleaning observed from all staff, I’m still giving the service 5 stars. We had a great experience and would love to return. Highly recommended!

I was very excited to give this place a try provided the vast number of vegetarian and vegan items on the menu. However, I found myself underwhelmed with the food throughout the meal. The fried eggplant fritter appetizer was extremely oily and not seasoned and I found the main saag paneer lacking in flavor as well. The breads were fantastic and so was the lassis. Yet once again the dessert was definitely still frozen at the center when served which was disappointing, to say the least.
