Here were a couple of the stand out Dishes
*Daikon Radishes: I’ll be honest, I didn’t expect these to be a highlight, but they were surprisingly delicious. They offered the perfect crisp, refreshing crunch to balance the meal.
*Mac and Cheese: This was an absolute **hit**. Creamy, rich, and seasoned to perfection—it’s the ultimate comfort food done right.
*Bacon and Kimchi Fried Rice: This dish is a masterclass in flavor. The smoky bacon paired with the tangy kick of kimchi creates a savory depth that I couldn’t get enough of.
*Kimchi Cucumber: Fresh, spicy, and perfectly marinated. It’s the ideal side to keep your palate excited.

The Verdict
The quality of the ingredients and the creativity of the menu really set this place apart. It is rare to find a spot where every single side dish is just as impressive as the main event.
I am 100% likely to return (and probably very soon). If you haven’t been to Basic Bird yet, you are seriously missing out!
Update: it was a 2 star for me, but changed it to a 1 star after finding bacon in my pasta when I asked for no bacon.
The food: I ordered the Bird Basket, consisting of boneless chicken (thighs), choice of sauce and 3 sides. I chose a 5 piece with Double Dunk sauce, Miso Mac and Cheese Cabbage Kimchee, and Korean potato salad. The chicken was hot and crispy, cooked fresh to order and very moist on the inside. The flavor was a touch bland, not bad, but not what I had expected. The Kimchee was saltier than I remembered others having been, and very moldy flavored beyond that. The Korean potato salad was creamy, and had good flavor, very similar to a classic potato salad. Miso Mac and cheese was well cooked, creamy and had a nice flavor. Miso was not very pronounced though.
Overall solid food, but a bit more bland than I expected. I would stop back in if I happened to be in the area, but most likely wouldn’t make a special trip for it.
We went on a date to grab some late lunch after a busy morning.
Service: Wonderful
Food: Excellent
Drinks: Nice
Vibe: Fun
We ordered items we usually would not. I got the kimchi rice wrapped in an egg. She ordered the instant ramen salad. We also ordered the sweet fries. The cashier/server made some excellent suggestions and were patient with us having good conversation.
I highly recommend the wings or chicken tenders. There isn’t a bad sauce, just pick one for your mood. The potato salad, kimchi and fries are all excellent sides.
Our dishes were fantastic and we enjoyed them!
We are looking forward to going back
We were not disappointed. The food was excellent. They have a wide variety of sauces and sides for palates from mild to spicy. Everything we had was great and very flavorful. No one-trick-ponies here. The sides ranged from simple (pickled daikon and miso mac & cheese) to complex (sesame marinated spinach) and the portions were generous. The staff took the time to explain the menu to us newbies and explain the various options. Full marks for everything! Including the mural outside and the wallpaper in the bathrooms.
We will be coming back!
