The food itself was alright. Momos were great, best thing I had. Expensive though as it’s $10 for just 4. Butter chicken was very tomato heavy and sweet, and naan was good but not the best. That dish was $25 and I’ve had better for under $20 at many other places in SF.
Overall I would maybe go back again to try different things. But for the price, I don’t see the value.
Cosy, comfy but refined!
Service is great. Food is very flavourful- but not heavy!!! Will come back
The watermelon feta salad was light but surprisingly refreshing, and it paired well with the heavier spiced dishes like the curries. The pork momo was well-seasoned with the dough not being too thick and decent meat-dough ratio. The chili powder-esque side Base Camp provides with the dish gives it a nice kick and accentuates the spices. The cashew curry was sweeter, less spiced, and lighter compared to the goat curry. However, both curries were excellent, and my party was satisfied with pairing them with the garlic naan (not too bready, had a nice crisp edge).
We were comfortably full given the portion sizes, but be prepared to pay $30-$50 per person (at time of writing).
Service was pleasant as Base Camp as the waiters were friendly. The decor was modern with a chill atmosphere.

The chowmein was great too, with a little bite to it.
Momos were nice, had more filling than I’d prefer but a good appetizer for 1-2 pieces
Goat Curry with steamed Tingmo buns, a spicy aromatic, yet comforting, highlight. Kale Chaat, a cool, tangy, crunchy melange of refreshing goodness on a plate. Chicken Chow Mein beats even the Chinese restaurant version. Pork Shapta is a salty, spicy yummy Tibetan stir-fry — yum. Classic momos and other Himalayan small plates.
I’ve never had Nepalese food but all the flavours popped. From the different spices and textures, everyone was moaning with every bite.
We made a reservation, went in a big group, ordered family style, and licked the plates clean. The onion fritters were super crispy. Be warned the cauliflower plate is actually spicy. The butter chicken was some of the best I’ve had. But the star of the show was the Kale Chaat.
Very friendly staff, extremely reasonable prices. Big portion sizes. You will not leave disappointed from this place.
