We came during off hours around 4:00 on a weekday. We were hungry and wanted some Mexican food but had never been here before or heard of it. My wife got the quesadilla Verde and I got a fajita salad bowl. It came also with chips and salsa. The entrees were delicious and tasted very homemade. Recommend this little gem off the beaten path in Mount Jackson

Bartolo’s is a recent and welcome addition to the variety of restaurants serving the Mount Jackson area. The food is consistently fresh, despite coming with a bit of a wait, and the service is friendly.

Visiting from out of town. Being in Virginia from the Chicagoland area it was hard to find good food in these areas. Gave this place a try. I was skeptical of the Mexican , Italian, and American menu. But we had a large party and between us all ended up with all three. Everything was homemade fresh and cooked to order. Being from Chicago this is crazy to say but this place had some of the best pastor I have ever eaten. Highly recommend if you don’t stick to the cheaper simple Mexican options.

If you temper your expectations you will not be disappointed. I visited twice. Both times the service was good. Both times I ordered burritos. Both times they were a nice size and seemed to be made with fresh ingredients. The only issue I have is that they weren’t as flavorful as I expect Mexican food to be. No heat either. Even the jalapeños I ordered on the side were not hot. The margaritas were strong. If I return to the area I would eat here again.

This is place has always been one of our favorites. Everyone in there dtrives to give the best service possible! And Courtney (the owner) is amazing host to her guest that frequent her establishment!! There Italian Items on the menu are amazing. Best Pizza and Subs around!! Courtney has worked so hard on the new menus and dri k menu!! Stop and and tell them hi have a margarita and some fish tacos!!!

Probably the worst Mexican restaurant I have ever been to. The waitress let us know she was new right from the start. Had to find our own menus. I was a bit worried once I saw it was now considered Mexican and Italian restaurant. Took forever to place order. Finally came and one meal wasn’t brought, had to ask where it was. Meal that was last delivered was a chicken burrito and instead of salsa they had spaghetti sauce poured over and no sides delivered. My taco salad was more like taco soup. Charged me $20 for a margarita listed as a special at the door for $5. Dil saw them dish out nacho chips with hands after working register and not even sanitizing. Time to shut down.

Update: 8/23: Food has gone downhill. Recently, no chips (ok, make some). No guacamole tonight. Sour cream is grainy from being frozen. Food lacks “Mexican” flavor. Salsa too spicy hot for the average person. No longer our go-to for a good Mexican meal.
