Did we wait over 40 minutes for our food, including appetizer? Yes, we did!

The music was a touch loud for my taste and our server seated several other guests right in our corner when the rest of the restaurant was virtually empty, so that was peculiar.

Arepas were amazing and highly recommend trying them because you won’t find them any other places as often. The cheesy corn is also pretty amazing as a shareable appetizer and if available depending on what time you get there, try one of the hola tacos if they give you the menu. The tacos for the restaurant that’s typically downstairs are amazing and incredibly feeling. Otherwise, Near perfect meal. Flavors were on point for the Peruvian style food and the tacos are always amazing. The cheesy corn dip was pretty good especially with chicken added to it and definitely recommend to share with people. Only major criticism my wife and I found was the chips were somewhat stale and were obviously fried together and stuck to each other so many of them were actually very soggy with oil still.

I really loved this, it is a plantain and queso lovers paradise. The decor up top is entertaining all on its own. This place is above Hola Tacos which it seems to get confused with a lot because it is in the same building. It has outdoor seating at well, which I bet is nice in the summer. We had the cheesy corn, patacon and maduros. Both are a take on steak served over queso and plantain. Patacon is crispy and chip like, maduros is sweet and soft. The cheese corn came with chips, but the real winner is that addition of the fried maize (corn meal). It reminded me of my moms refried grits sticks and I loved it! They also had caiparanhas which is nice to see. This is a drink made with liquor from sugar cane, sugar and lime. Although this had some carbonation- so it’s a bit different than I am used to. Anyway, good service, good and authentic food, awesome decor.

Had a graduation party on the second floor patio area and part of the second floor restaurant space. The bartender Roy and waitress Mayra were OUTSTANDING!! They had standby help by other servers however majority was managed by them and the service was exceptional given the volume of people for our event. Set up and prep was a breeze and they offered their help the entire time making this event as stress free as possible. The decor, flowers and decorations were bright/colorful and matched many of my own decorations I had set up for the party making it more lively than I had anticipated. I highly recommend anyone considering an event, hosting it here and I will continue to host future events here too. Very impressed and could not have asked for a better outcome. Thank you so much for making the party so enjoyable for everyone.

Hit and miss. We ate on the upstairs patio, high marks! The service was ok and the atmosphere was good. I had a plantain dish which I highly recommend. My wife’s was less impressive though (pictured cant remember the name). The steak bits were dry and over cooked. She loved the black bean soup though! The kids had grilled cheese which was terrible, hard and dry. That’s not grilled cheese by any means and the fries were just ok. So overall our experience was just ok. Well go back once more and try other things soon.

This place made my family and I so sad. We walk in as my diabetic grandpa is on the verge of passing out, so we kindly ask if we could get a soda or anything sweet. (Of course we would have paid for it). They reply “no we can’t do that you have to be seated in order to order something”. Excuse me? Where is anyones human decency anymore. Our waitress was extremely rude and snarky and when we ordered our food we were screamed at when we wanted to take one little thing off the plate. Will definitely not be coming here again and will make sure to tell everyone around me not to either. And the food was horrible and cold.

I love that place, is beautiful and modern with a lot of character. The food is excellent, the staff is very friendly, and the beers from their brewery are super good and fresh. The owners are friendly and take good care of the restaurant and their customers. I have been there over 10 times.

Went 10/8/22 Saturday at approximately 4:30pm. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and patiently explained the menu options. I ordered the Chicken Anticuchos. It was tasty and flavorful especially when adding their sauce options to the food (have 5 to choose from). Grade: B+/A-

The first thing I noticed was that the ambiance in this place is amazing. The decor is fun, unique and exciting. They have an outdoor upstairs/rooftop patio that is quite impressive. For appetizers, we had two different types of guacamole and the maduros with queso. If you are not familiar with maduros, I highly recommend getting this appetizer or as a side with another dish. Maduros are sweet, ripe plantains that are pan-fried. This is an arepa bar, so those are an obvious choice. These arepas are kind of like pocket sandwiches where the dough is made from a type of corn. They are absolutely delicious and can be eaten with your hands in the foil that they are served in, or with a fork and knife. Also, I wanted to add that there are plenty of vegetarian options. I have been to the other Barroco locations, and this one was just as impressive! We will definitely be coming back!
