This place fell flat with the atmosphere. Firstly, it was very cold inside. And also, we sat at at table near where people discard their trays, and the garbage there smelt like it had been sitting there for a while. Not something you want to be smelling while eating. I understand they just reopened a few days prior, so perhaps it had been sitting there since then.
Can’t really comment on the service since you kind of take care of everything yourself. You go up and order, they bring your food, and you clean up after yourself. I did appreciate that they did not have a tip option on the debit machine, since there are no actual servers. The staff were friendly and helpful though.
As for the food, the Tender Chicken was one of the best chicken dishes I’ve ever had. It was perfectly juicy with a crispy breadcrumb crust, fried to perfection. Although it was labeled as “Nashville Hot,” I didn’t find it particularly spicy—but that didn’t take away from how delicious it was. We also tried the Brussels sprouts and fries as sides and enjoyed them. The wings were fantastic as well.
However, as a meat lover, I found the brisket dish underwhelming. It tasted more like it had been slow-cooked in water rather than smoked, which didn’t meet my expectations based on the restaurant’s name.
On the bright side, the sour bourbon I ordered was amazing! Overall, I’ll definitely be returning. A big thank you to the management for valuing both their staff and customers!
We each got a drink and the local craft beer was very good. It’s a nice touch that they leave a cinnamon popcorn on the table for you to snack on before your appetizers and your entrées arrive.
We got the we got the meat meat platter that serves 4 to 6 people comes with brisket, pulled pork, pulled chicken, ribs, some sweet pickles, dill, pork, rinds, and tortillas with a nice black bean and cord medley in the middle. The couple we were with ordered an Affogato for dessert which they said was delightful.
I do wish the meat on the platter came to the table hotter The meat was about lukewarm, and the cornbread was a little dry. All in all still a positive experience. Very nice ambience inside indoor and outdoor seating available.
Great service, great experience, I would recommend.
If you have to drive more than 30 minutes.
I wouldn’t do it. The food is good. But not excellent. Price is around $45 to $50 for a dish. But portion are small. I have been in real BBQ places in the USA and when I ordered the share me for three persons for $ 172 ( they charge me a bit extra for half a rack of ribs instead of a quarter of a rack and also they charge another $10 for asking for double brisket. It was supposed to be three meats for $162 , however I requested a half rack of ribs instead of a quarter ( increases the price a bit ) and then I also wanted two of the same kind of meats(brisket ) so the waitress said that would be an extra $10. Total of $172.
When she brought the plate, my partner and I looked at each other and thought we were missing an order of meat.
The half rack of ribs in my opinion looked like a quarter of other bbq places I had visited in the past.
Ribs were good, brisket was not my favourite but ok.
I give it a solid 3 for value for your money.
Service and atmosphere were great. Would I go back is a solid No.
The smoked bbq wings were amazing ! If you couln’t decide what to get, the sampler menu is a great choice, it gives you a bit of everything. We loved the mac and cheese by the way (chefs kiss)
Shoutout to Julia who was our server last night.
