⚠️⛔️ The owner of this bar does not care about you ⛔️⚠️
I visited Bar Siena while flying from Chicago O’Hare, and it was an incredibly disappointing experience. First, I had to endure a long wait to get seated because the place was severely understaffed. After finally securing a spot, I was left unattended for 20 minutes. Meanwhile, guests who arrived after me were already served drinks. It felt quite offensive and frustrating. When I asked a server about my order, his excuse was, “I thought my other colleague took your order.” Do they not coordinate or communicate at all?
When I finally managed to place my order, I requested a beer and a pizza. After waiting another 7-8 minutes, the server came back and mentioned that they were changing the beer tap, so the beer would take longer. The pizza itself was tasty but severely lacking in chicken, which was clearly listed as part of the dish on the menu.
As I sat there, I took the time to read reviews online, and to my surprise (or perhaps not), I found countless complaints about the same issues: rude behavior from staff, long wait times, and general neglect of customers. I experienced all of these firsthand, and it’s evident that management does nothing to address these concerns. They don’t seem to care about training their team, motivating staff, or improving service—despite the flood of negative reviews.
The ignorance from staff and management alike is appalling, and if you value timely, respectful service, I’d strongly recommend steering clear of Bar Siena.
Only food option was pizza. The beverage menu lists several items that were not available. Our server truly could have not cared less.
Once seated Michael was our server, and bar none one of the more personable waiters we had in our whole weekend trip to Chicago. Being electronic music lovers it was awesome to hear the sublime playlist that was playing in the establishment, and then asking Michael he said that it’s about the same 12 tracks on repeat Each of the 4 TVs in the dining area was airing a different channel, and with the Olympics in full swing it was nice being able to catch a couple of the different preliminaries during our visits.
The menu had so many amazing items on there that we had to try our own little tour of Italy, starting off with the meatballs combined with drinks, my wife and I sharing the espresso martini while she has the No 15 and my go-to favorite beer: a Blue Moon. Served with a delicious marinara sauce and bread, the meatball was devoted quickly, and with the amazing flavors we were already won over in our claims of probably one of our favorite Italian spots ever – and it didn’t stop there!
We had ordered the chopped salad and the wild mushroom pizza to share and before we could get through the end of our meatball we knew we’re going to have to get the pizza to go. The chopped salad had tiny little pieces of cucumber & cheese, bread crumbs, and a litany of meats, tomatoes and delicious dressing.
One of the highlights of our table location was being so close to the kitchen and seeing the line cooks preparing and then one of the top chefs putting the finishing touches before the plates were delivered to their tables.
As expected the savory pizza and the heavenly aroma of garlic only made it past one slice, so the rest of it came with us as we departed, in hopes that the entire plane doesn’t try to steal a piece
Price wise it certainly had the cost of a fine Italian restaurant, but at the end of our visit our raving after finishing each item was worth the cost!
We ordered Pizzas and beer and drinks, all were pretty good.
