One of my favorite spots for an early morning breakfast! Been coming here consistently over the past couple years with my friends at the end of the weekly night shift. Great selection of food for a buffet breakfast too at an excellent price point.
Service is amazing as well. Special shout-out to Lana, who is my absolute favorite server and she makes the best hot chocolate too (and I’ve tried from many haha)! She alone is worth coming back for as her hot chocolates sets this place apart from anywhere else 🙂
I’d like to say a big thank you to Chef Taylor as well, breakfast is always great when she’s around and she cooks bacon well (not undercooked as in some places, which bugs me because I love bacon) and eggs are well seasoned as well instead of completely plain.
I’m glad we have a place like this in town for a buffet breakfast, forever grateful to Lana and Taylor — they’ve been great, consistently, over the past couple of years I’ve been visiting.
And oh I’ve attached some photos as well, look at that hot chocolate, so pretty and cute, and tastes so good. Lana goes out of her way to make our experience great all the time, even when I can see she’s busy. She’s an absolute gem!
Thanks again, we will be back! Looking forward to it already

Food was so tasty and portion sizes were very reasonable I didn’t feel pressured to clear my plate, a lot of choice on the menu , the staff are so friendly and there when you need them, the atmosphere when we were there was calm and chilled, by the time we left it was busy but you still felt like you had your own private space. 100% recommend and we will be returning
I got the salt and pepper squid for starters, for my main I got the steak where you choose your own cut and pick your sauce, because I ordered off the valentines menu I got a cocktail named ‘be my valentine’ and also I ordered a large wine.

8oz Sirloin Steak and mash got destroyed before the camera even made it out of my pocket!
The desserts are incredible and staff (Sam) excellent and friendly!

Had dinner here and staff were very friendly and helpful. We had their burger and steak which were tasty. I’d ordered their rum steak medium but the menu suggested medium rare. My advice is follow the suggestions on the menu for the best taste of their steaks. It was a very filling meal regardless and their burgers are worth a try

Food was okay, I ordered the platter which came with 3 different types of steak and ordered them all medium rare, however all 3 seemed to be cooked to varying levels! 3 of us in our party had the same and it was the same for all of us! The signature steak sauce just tasted of vinegar too! The portion sizes, I felt were a bit small for the starters in particular! The coke was also a bit flat! The atmosphere was very standard, nothing to write home about! However, on a positive note, our server (Neve I believe was their name) was brilliant! Very friendly and chatty with the kids! I’m glad I went but probably wouldn’t go back, purely because there are better steakhouses in Newcastle!

The food here is always amazing. The steaks are top notch and come with various cuts, sauces and sides cooked to your own preference. You can substitute and take off anything you don’t like or want and in some cases swap the meat in the burgers to halloumi which is a great alternative.
Cocktails are also the best I’ve ever tasted with good measures even on the 2 for 1 deal. All the staff in the restaurant are very friendly and welcoming and are always happy to help with knowledgeable recommendations should you ask.

Myself and my sister visited Bar & Block this evening for an early dinner. Lovely atmosphere in the restaurant area, we were seated and ordered drinks and food within 10 mins or so. I ordered the brisket beef burger and triple cooked beef dripping chips, which was absolutely superb, my sister had the 10oz ribeye with chips and we also had the beer battered onion rings, the food was really lovely, steak was cooked to perfection, slightly over seasoned but still very tasty. Huge shout out to Aiden our waiter, who we had a good chat with, they really are a credit to your team FOH, so friendly and professional! We wish him well on his move to London in May to study fashion!

From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We kicked off the evening with a few drinks and a selection of starters that were simply delicious—each dish was prepared to perfection and bursting with flavour. The service was outstanding, with attentive staff who made sure we had everything we needed. It set the tone for a truly memorable evening.
To make things even more convenient, we stayed at the Premier Inn right next door. The room was comfortable, and after an amazing night, we headed down for breakfast in the morning. The breakfast was just what we needed—plenty of variety, all freshly prepared, and served by the most polite and accommodating staff.
Bar + Block Steakhouse and the Premier Inn made for a winning combination. Whether you’re in Newcastle for a night out or a short stay, I can’t recommend this duo highly enough. We’ll definitely be back!

Stayed in the premier inn for work and received the all inclusive meal and breakfast package. This place is lovely inside it really is. It reminds me of an American saloon/steakhouse in some ways with lots of timber. It really does have you peering around at the decor and design of the building. The staff are friendly and are quick to serve you and explain the menu (what you can and can’t have)
There is a lot you can have and not a lot you can’t have. The beef flavoured complimentary popcorn I received as I sat down was a really nice touch!
I had a bottle of alcohol free peroni from their large selection of beers and mac and cheese bites for starters followed by a steak skewer with garlic bread for my main (name of dish I’ve forgotten)
One thing I do know is that meal was in my top 3 meals of all time! The steak better than miller and carters and roasting hot!
Also the breakfast was the usual premier inn breakfast – eat until you’re stuffed but the food was a lot better than some of the other premier inns I’ve eaten at. Highly recommend eating here, you definetly get your monies worth even if your staying in the premier inn and have the food package.

Came in for breakfast with my wife. We tried the yoghurt pots they were amazing. Never seen anything like them before in different hotels so that was really nice. Emily and Lana were amazing very helpful. The chef Taylor was amazing too she was very knowledgeable about the food which was good! Really enjoyed our stay and breakfast will be back. Thank you for amazing hospitality.
