I’m absolutely in love with this place. Everything we’ve tried we’ve enjoyed and it’s my 8 year olds new favorite food and take out in all of portsmouth kittery or york. We love the pad Thai and drunken noodles. The vegetables and meat in the dishes are fresh and the staff are always friendly. I love that you can place an order and it’s ready to grab at the door. Makes for a very easy quick but delicious lunch spot. Today we finally ate in and the husband & wife duo here are beyond kind and friendly. I am glad we didn’t listen to any of the reviews about the food being bland, their food is extremely flavorful. The lunch specials are a perfect portion.

What a nice experience. David had sweet and sour chicken and I had the chickpea curry both were excellent. The owners Kevin and his wife are a sweet couple that are very concerned about their customer’s satisfaction. Check this place out for some great Thai food when in York.

This is now my least favorite Thai food. 4.7 google rating has never disappointed me like this one did. Everything is so under-seasoned, (very bland).The Pad See Ew noodle was quite hard. The price was not that great either. You will be charged extra for any proteins, or tofu or mushrooms. The only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 is that we were able to eat it. Better bland than salty. Everything was well cooked and the produce was fresh.

Nothing good to say about this restaurant. We ordered food to go. When my husband brought our order home, we were surprised at the SMALL size of the rice provided (see picture), so he went back to ask for more. The management wanted to charge us for the “extra” rice. When my husband protested, he was given the rice, and asked not to return. Well, turns out he shouldn’t have gone back, as the food was overpoweringly SWEET and we couldn’t eat much of it. Our curries came with 5-6 small thin slices of meat in each. You pay $2 extra for the meat. Terrible experience all around. Expect they will be out of business before next summer.

While I dislike leaving poor reviews on local businesses, I feel that my experience needs to be shared. I ordered take out on the website, which is an overly complicated experience in itself. This is the MOST BLAND Thai food I have ever eaten. The yellow curry tasted almost like nothing at all. It didn’t taste bad, just virtually flavorless. The same goes for the vegetable stir fry with beef. Even after adding in spicy oil, it was incredibly (almost impressively) bland. (And I checked, I could taste other food & flavors just fine.) The vegetables in the curry had weird textures, with some pieces being extremely mushy and some pieces being overly firm and woody. The beef in the stir fry was extremely tough, almost like stew beef if it isn’t stewed. We weren’t given any sauce for the FIVE crab Rangoons (for $9), and they had a tinge of a taste of old oil to them. The rice portion is smaller than usual, which was the least of my concerns. The person working seemed pleasant enough. I’d give this place another try, but up the spice level to at least 4. I ordered it at 2, which anywhere else is a pleasant level if you like spice but don’t want to burn your insides. I feel bad posting this, but maybe it will help them improve.

This was hands down the worst Thai food I’ve ever had. The food was so bland and flavorless. The pad Thai had a strange taste, like the bean sprouts were expired and had ZERO heat, despite getting a level 5 spice. The crab Rangoons had an overly fishy taste. The pineapple fried rice was not fried at all and was merely steamed rice mixed with a little curry, pineapple and tough chicken. The sweet and sour pork was edible but not enough to come back for. After $70 we threw most of it away because it was so awful. Not having a phone number to call if you have an issue is a problem. I reached out on Facebook to see if they would remedy our awful experience and I got no response. I don’t normally post reviews but the 4.6 rating is misleading. I wonder how many of these reviews are genuine…

Our group of 9 hungry cyclists showed up without notice at the end of lunch on Sunday. We all needed water Right Now and wanted to eat ASAP. We couldn’t have been treated better. Our group was served quickly and with smiles! We all liked the food and agreed that it was a great value for the money. Bangkok Beach Bistro is on one of our favorite biking routes, and we’ll definitely be back.

I ordered from here tonight and realized I forgot to tell them of a serious gluten allergy. I tried to call but they would not answer the phone. So I drove there and told them of the allergy. The owner said it was fine. I reiterated that it was a serious allergy and asked him to be sure no gluten was involved in the cooking of my food. He laughed and said “well, we all take our chances…” I cancelled the order and asked for a refund. He began yelling and swearing at me and chased me out to my car yelling. UNBELIEVABLE! No wonder there was absolutely zero customers in his restaurant. STAY AWAY! Thai for you down the street are sweet people with great food. Go there.

If you like sweet umami flavors, this will be some of the best Thai food you’ve ever had. We keep coming back because every time we want to eat out, we can’t think of anything else in the area that would be better than Bangkok Beach Bistro.
There hasn’t been a single piece of food we have tried that hasn’t been cooked or spiced perfectly. The couple running the place seem like genuine good people, but even if they were awful and rude, I’d STILL come back because I love the food that much.

Great little new Thai restaurant! We stopped on our trip up to Maine, it was a very convenient location right off of 95. The food was dynamite, and the authentic Thai flavors were on point. Portions and variety of dishes were great. The owners were very friendly and accommodating for our group, ae had a wonderful time. I highly you seek out this fun little Bistro, you won’t be disappointed.
