Today I ordered a whole pie, (Grandma’s pie) when I got back to my shop 7 minutes down the road, I opened the box to see a burnt and cold pizza.
I was no less than 10 minutes late to pick up the pie, but it seems like my pizza wasn’t fresh. It was tasty and edible but I was overall disappointed with the pizza. Every bite was crunch, crunch, crunch. From now on, I will always check my pizza before I leave.
P.s. it was even worse after re-heating it, barely edible. Downgraded my review from 2 star to 1 star. Worst Grandma’s pie i have ever eaten.

Me and my mom came here on break really good slices of pizza. I got two plain. She got two buffalo chicken service was great. Customer service is great think all together came to 16 bucks not bad. Pizza was delicious we will be back soon ! Make this your next spot to eat !

I ordered a small arugula salad along with the rest of my family’s order. When order arrived (via takeout) and I saw that I was charged $14.99 for this tiny salad, I called to speak with someone because I was certain they made a mistake and overcharged thinking I ordered a large. The young person who I spoke with at first was completely RUDE, insisted that the small salad is in fact $14.99, and couldn’t understand why I was calling to talk this out. The owner heard him speaking with me and quickly got in the phone asking what was up. I explained it to him…and even he didn’t understand how absurd charging $14.99 for a small salad is. A salad this size wouldn’t even be $14.99 at JFK airport, let alone Middletown NJ. Oh, and by the way, the large costs $17.99 – how does this make sense? See photo for reference, this size salad is an $8.99 salad, tops! Cugini’s, you’ve lost my family’s business – and we live right here so you would have had a lot of business from us.

Pizza joints are one and 1 million especially in New Jersey but once in a while you find one that truly takes your breath away! And I think I found it..
From the upside down, Sicilians to the inventive rolls , the owner comes up with this place is just phenomenal! The Napoleon dynamite slice is crazy, pizza rolls, buffalo chicken rolls everything you can think of! I can’t wait to come back for dinner. Try the rest of the menu.

I’ve been to Cugini’s many times and the food is always solid and definitely one of the better pizzerias in Middletown. This time we ordered a Chicken Vodka panini, French fries, a Texas Burger, a Grandma pie, a Chicken & Spinach Alfredo pie, and a Margherita with toppings. Ordered online at 5:20 p.m. for a 6:00 pickup, but when we arrived, the place was packed with at least 15 people waiting for pick up and my order wasn’t close to being completed. My order wasn’t ready until 6:35 p.m.
The biggest issue is the pickup system. They don’t ask for names or give out order numbers, so orders get mixed up constantly. When you go in, they ask you what items you ordered and try and piece your order together. I even saw a customer waiting 20 minutes for a personal pizza, only to be handed a large half Margherita, half plain just to make up for the mistake.
Only the owner was making all the pizzas and he looked overwhelmed. I can’t blame him, he’s doing his best and was apologizing profusely. Despite the chaos, the food itself was excellent. The pizza dough was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, the burger was cooked perfectly, and the fries were nice and crispy.
Overall, great food but a frustrating wait. The quality keeps us coming back, but they really need a better order and pickup system.

I had the pleasure of visiting Cuginis Middletown location during their grand opening week and it was fantastic. The owner AJ was so friendly and his staff was extremely helpful attentive and personable! I had a chance to try one of their specialty pizzas, the Napoleon Dynamite Grandma Pie and it was delicious ! This pizza is Cuginis version of the Tri color pie , with vodka sauce, marinara & a creamy basil pesto on top of a healthy layer of fresh sliced mozzarella, sprinkled with Parmesan and finished with fresh chopped basil. The crust was a thin square for the grandma that was crisp and flavorful , there was absolutely no flop to this pie and it was cooked well done but not burnt, it was perfectly baked! I also enjoyed the spicy Vodka Mezzi Rigatoni that was excellent! The pasta is made fresh daily , the vodka sauce was whipped up as I ordered the dish , this wasn’t a pre made sauce or something pulled from the fridge, you can tell every entree is made fresh to order and you can taste that quality and love in the dish ! But the dish that knocked my socks off had to be the bone in veal cutlet Parm! Again the veal cutlets were made in house that very same day, layered with the house secret sauce, fresh sliced mozzarella and a sprinkle of parm! The cutlet was juicy, not dried out or overcooked and had a crisp outer edge under a blanket of oozing mozzarella. The flavor from the bone was amazing , this was an entree you’d find at a fine NYC Italian restaurant but AJ makes this daily at your neighborhood pizzeria. Each dish was excellent and I cannot wait to come back with my family, oh and it’s BYOB!!

Great redesign from the previous place. Really delicious pizza, calzone, and other options. We had the plain and a chicken-spinach Alfredo, love it. Super friendly staff, can’t wait to order a whole pie next time. The taco pizza looked really good too.

The owner was there too and he was very welcoming and helped us to the dining area, the place also has pizza which is very good, I got the burger with fries and it’s unlike anything else i’ve had, Fresh everything cooked right and crisp fries. 10/10 recommend

Where do we start? The operators, Aj & Tony are amazing people to work with behind the scenes. They put everything they have into this place. Building this location was a lot of fun and I know this place will do amazing. The kitchen is kept very clean and the staff is well trained. The food is outstanding as well as the pizza. All the love to Cugini’s and we wish them continued success.
