We stopped here while traveling through. Three-meat platter with sides was delicious. My husband especially enjoyed the garlic bread. The ribs were our favorite. We shared the meal and couldn’t even finish it. Jasmine was an excellent server. The owner/manager came to check on us as well.
Cute decor – colorful bandanas, washtubs for light fixtures.

Burnt ends were spot on awesome. Brisket was a tad dry. Corn, fried okra and fries were delicious. The coleslaw was good. Didn’t fancy the southern cherry pie. Appeared to be missing the drizzle frosting on top when it arrived compared to the pictures. Portion size was just right, perhaps on the smaller side? But that’s the economy today. Atmosphere was good. Service was also good. We ended up paying around $60 for two meals and the cherry pie. I would visit again for the burnt ends.

I had the ribs and the sauce selection was awesome. They did how ever run out of beer glasses so I had to reuse my old one which didn’t matter to much as I drank them fast enough. The service was 10 stars. The food was out faster than most fast food joints. The bar tender was always on point.

Shout out to the best little potato salad maker east of the Rockies! Evie was an absolute delight and offered wonderful suggestions – ribs were fantastic and the brisket was moist and delicious. She personally makes the potato salad and it was outstanding. If you’re in the mood for a load of Missouri hospitality, good food and decent prices, I highly recommend this spot. 10/10

Excellent lunch at this off-the-beaten track bbq joint. Attentive staff, delicious and bountiful meal. Pork and burnt ends and pork and brisket were our choices.

The food was very good. The atmosphere was nice. The waiter was awesome and again my food was very good. My grandmother loved the way her bun was toasted on her sandwich. The french fries were perfect. Everything came out and I considerable time until I found a hair on my brisket and. but they did compensate for the hair being on the brisket

I would like to begin by saying the food at Bandana’s Bar-B-Q was phenomenal. The brisket nearly made me forgive all my enemies. The ribs fell off the bone with the kind of grace most of us can only dream of.
Now.
Our server, Crystal, seemed to be conducting a fascinating sociological study titled “What Happens If I Simply Don’t Check On My Table?” Throughout our meal, she demonstrated an impressive commitment to speaking exclusively to her coworkers while we attempted to telepathically request refills.
At one point, we overheard her mention that we “weren’t ready to order” and that it ticked her off. Which is interesting, because when your server doesn’t come to the table, it can be difficult to express readiness through interpretive dance alone.
We eventually ordered, survived dehydration, and enjoyed the food immensely. But if attentive service were a side dish, ours was tragically 86’d.

It’s getting harder and harder to find good BBQ. This is one of those good places that are still left. If you’re on your way too or leaving Kansas City heading north, I recommend this place over a lot of places that are currently in Kansas City. I had the brisket and the pulled pork–the pulled pork was particularly good with their original sauce or their KC sauce. Their sides were excellent, and I had BBQ beans and macaroni and cheese, side dishes I find are pretty critical to a five-star review, and they really tied it in. Overall, it was good BBQ. And the service was great, and I did appreciate the atmosphere.

The food was not great. The meat was too fatty. The coleslaw was too soupy. However, the sauces were good. The service was excellent. Our waitress was very attentive and they seemed to take gluten restrictions very seriously. They had a seperate menu and said they would change their gloves. They were upfront about using a shared fryer so clearly aware of cross contamination. Still, we probably won’t go back because of the disappointing food.

We can in about 6:30pm figured we’d have plenty of time, ordered fairly quickly for a table of 7. We ordered the meal that was for 4 people and fed all of us. By 8ish we were the only ones left in the place. After the food was delivered, no one came back. Too busy cleaning up for the night. I would not recommend the chicken what so ever, was so salty you couldn’t even eat the darn thing. I told our waiter and all she said was yeah they were trying something new! Who says that when you’re spending a hundred some bucks and have to waste food because you can’t eat it. The brisket was on the dry side. My relatives stop I St Joseph every 6 months but it’s alway late and have wanted to try for years and was a sad disappointment plus the cost.
