This is where chile rellenos go when they die. Outstanding. My chile was massive and it was smothered in a rich, creamy sauce that reminded me of Indian butter chicken. The homemade flour tortillas it came with were buttery and flaky almost like naan. Tacos dorados also deserve an honorable mention. But really I think their strength is in sauces. This taqueria has to be one of the best if not the best in Oregon.

I’ve been going to Luis’s for more than 20 years, and I hope to keep going for another 20. It’s so consistent, so delicious, and one of my all-time favorite spots.

I usually get the carnitas burrito ahogado, but the tostadas, sopes, tamales, and tacos are all top notch. If you’re unsure, go with one of their massive carne asada tacos and an Al pastor tostada, and smother ‘em in the avocado salsa. Wash it down with a bottle of Mexican Coke. That’s how you win at eating.

Summary: Located on the street with many Mexican restaurants. Authentic and huge portion with free chips and salsa.

No outdoor seatings. No a pet friendly places.

Tacos – the shell is not the tiny corn one like CA. They do have lengua. We still love our Cali Mexican food more.

Tortas – fresh and delicious

Fish Fajitas entree was huge.

I eat here every time I am in the Woodburn area. Every dish I have ever had here has been excellent. I have always felt well versed in Mexican cuisine, but here, there are so many items I have never heard of. I love the sauce options they bring to the table: red, green, and red crema. The staff is friendly and attentive. The restaurant is very clean. It can be a little noisy during the busy meal hours. It was initially overwhelming when I had to order at the counter due to the large menu. I will forever thank my friend Juan for introducing me to this place.

We’re looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant in Woodburn. There are so many good ones. We walked in here. The line was long. That was a good sign. Fortunately it moved quickly. We placed our order and set our table eating our chips and salsa. There was a gentleman wandering around playing Mexican music on his guitar. The chips were house made as well as the salsa and I couldn’t stop eating them. Fortunately, our food arrived before I finished all the chips. That mole sauce on my chimichanga was the bomb. It was very rich and delicious and I couldn’t stop eating it. In fact, they use the rest of my chips to clean up what I couldn’t eat with the chimichanga. The refried beans and rice all house made and delicious. This place is hopping. Fortunately it’s well staffed so you don’t wait long. This is some of the best Mexican food I’ve had in a long time. I’m used to eating food from the Jalisco region. This one is Michoacan. They’re all good and unique. It’s nice to enjoy regional differences in Mexican food. I can’t wait to try it again.

Stopped here after hitting the outlet stores and we were hungry. Couldn’t finish all of it- generous portion sizes. So now we’ve got some left overs for later!

Not featured in the photos but drink options like Horchata also available.

Delicious food! The salsa dip is on point and the churros were tasty and had the perfect crunch. The tacos were excellently made with homemade tortillas, I devoured them before I even got a chance to take a picture (chicken fajita taco was my favorite). Recommend %!

Luis’s restaurant consistently serves great food out of a humble restaurant decorated with hanging pinatas.

Although they are routinely busy and have a line of people, the staff is well organized and line waits are usually very very quick. It’s usually a good time to choose from the vast menu choices.

Over the last several years, we (family) have not had a bad meal, the food has always been authentic, at the right temperature, and served with pride. The food is fantastic.

Out of all the great food choices, I typically come back to the tacos. The tacos are made with freshly made tortillas as you order your tacos. The choices are just about anything you will want. Although the staples of carne asada, al pastor, pollo, lengua, and fish are really good, the stand-out taco is the chorizo taco. Hands down the best taco you will enjoy. You will crave it in the middle of the night. The tacos are served with onions and cilantro. And when you think that it can’t get better… add a sauce. The sauces will level up your experience. From a mild avocado base sauce to a tomatillo sauce, to traditional red sauce, they will bring your taste buds to an apex of absolute delight.

The chili relleno burrito is amazing, and a great choice for vegetarian eaters. The best part is that they serve an authentic version of the dish. Plus they serve it with a special sauce on the side to dip into which will make your toes curl from joy. Try it out, you won’t be disappointed.

This is a gem in Woodburn, and a great destination for anyone who wants to eat great food.

Cheers.

We found this little place randomly and decided to try it out. Food was great and seasoned very well. They were willing to do a small adjustment and gave us more meat/beans and rice. And it fed us each that night and had lunch the next day. The language barrier wasn’t bad as the server understood English but spoke Spanish but we were able to get everything we needed no issues.

The service is always great. Love the salsa options, the green one is always a must. Tortillas are always freshly made and that’s why it’s so expensive. It’s an over all great place for any occasion. My tripas were a little over cooked for my taste but the rest of my food was cooked well.
