I had read about this small family-owned chain of three Chinese takeout restaurants. So, I thought I would try it since I am disappointed with the majority of Chinese restaurants in the area.
I ordered the Shrimp Garlic Sauce Combination dinner with peppers, onions, broccoli, mushrooms, and string beans. Supposed to be spicy but it wasn’t. Just OK.
Comes with Pork Fried Rice and Pork Egg Roll and Choice of Soup :Egg Drop or Wonton Soup or Hot & Sour Soup or Mixed Soup.

Since moving from NY I’ve tried a couple of Chinese takeout restaurants and have been very disappointed. Bamboo Wok had better reviews so I decided to give them a try and I’m very glad I did! Much, much better than other local takeout spots. Is it as good as my favorite spot in NY? Not quite, but still very good. I got sesame chicken, chicken and broccoli, and chicken lo mein. The sauces had good flavor and I really like that the chicken was all white meat. The lo mein was slightly dry, but I’d still get it again. My food was ready on time and the man at the counter was friendly. He let me know they had sauces and fortune cookies for me to take as many as I wanted. So glad I finally found my go-to Chinese takeout spot!

Just moved to the area and needed a break from unpacking so I went out exploring and came across The Bamboo Wok. I was warmly greeted and my questions were answered with a friendly and polite response. But more importantly, my dinner, eggplant and garlic sauce with a side of lo mein was so delicious. The portion size was impressive and the value was outstanding. This restaurant will become my pick of choice when it comes to Chinese food takeout. If your in the area stop in and if not it’s worth the drive!

If I could give 0 star I would, I don’t live in Boynton Beach and just so happen to look for Chinese food, in the area, Don’t be fooled by positive reviews most people that visit are old and can’t tell what they are eating. The Lady working there was cold never smile just very bad customer service and unfriendly. Maybe she had a bad day or the old people that visit this place always give her hard time. I ordered combination platter Chicken Chow Mein and Fried Rice. Chow Mein was tasteless, I don’t know if it was lacking MSG or corn starch, I am not expert on ingredients all I know it was lacking any kind of good taste the way Chow Mein should be. The fried rice was not fried it was on the stiff and tasted like fake rubber rice. They are advertising Szechuan style it’s far from it. The people working in the kitchen I am sure don’t know how to make American Chinese food, they must be from the Philippines Vietnam or Hong Kong. I understand we are not in San Francisco or China Town New York. I had very good Chinese food here in south Florida and it’s not impossible to prepare it and cook it the right way. It’s the cook or this is the way they want to cook their food because most visit this place are old and don’t know what they are eating. Looking for Chinese food you won’t find it here skip this place and find store owner that has customer service skills. Update
Jan. 8th 2026: The reply below has nothing to do with my review sounds like another unhappy customer. I never called you on the phone, I passed though Boynton Beach and placed my order in person with a woman that looked like she did not want to work or be there. What loud kitchen are you talking about? I asked for my money back and received a refund. If you are going to reply to reviews make sure you are speaking to the right person. You need to make sure before you reply to a review that it’s the right customer you are talking about LOL. Maybe you made up this reply to save yourself. There was no racial slurs said that day by me, it just shows how unprofessional this place is to bring up a race card for a poor excuse for their horrible customer service and bad food.

I ordered an egg foo young combination They did not give me gravy. I ordered the boneless ribs combination it was overcooked and bone dry. I must say the honey garlic chicken was pretty good. But at $45 McDonald’s would have been a better option. When I called back with the problem the guy pretended he didn’t speak English. They spoke pretty good English when they took my money. He told me to drive back and I told him I could not do that at this time because I was working. He did nothing to assist, he just played stupid. I don’t know, I don’t know! Well if you don’t know don’t answer the phone. I came home from work and my wife said she had been sick two times. I do not usually complain, but when I get treated poorly, I let people know. The customer service here was horrible… They got paid, they don’t care.
UPDATE: RESTAURANT SAID THEY WERE GOING TO CALL ME TO GET THIS TAKEN CARE OF. IT HAS BEEN OVER A WEEK NO PHONE CALL NO NOTHING.

When we have Chinese food, Bamboo Wok is our go to restaurant. We typically order chicken and broccoli with Garlic sauce, moo goo gai pan, spare ribs and chicken fried rice. All the food is very good. My son loves when Ping is there as his food is awesome! The whole team / family are friendly and always give my son Jake a soda.

I ordered chicken with mixed vegetables and wonton soup. I ate just under 2/3 of the chicken with mixed vegetables. It was just okay. Did not want to take leftovers home. The plastic utensils were very cheap and barely usable. Employees were friendly. Plenty of free parking.

The absolute worst, lousiest, laziest, incompetent, and scammy place of business I’ve ever dealt with. I was placing an order over the phone, and all that was requested was that they put 2 items from the same meal in separate containers. The response was that it wasn’t possible. Then a lady was put on the phone and we asked the same question. She initially said yes it was possible, then immediately said no it wasn’t, and that we could order a pint of rice would have been a whole additional cost and still ignoring the initial request. Place is absolute trash. If I could rate negative stars I would. Just go to the Boca location it’s so much better. Hung up with this location and called the Boca location and they took our requests with no problem. This location sucks and would rather loose money on a whole order then take the time to separate one item in 1 meal. It’s pathetic.

Food is very good for Chinese takeout in Florida. I second that it reminds me of takeout places in New York. Though we are not in New York and this place could use a serious makeover on the inside.
I got the sesame chicken and substituted lo main for the rice that came with the dinner special. That was $3 extra charge. The meals are really big and you can split them. But they don’t heat up well the next day. I liked how the chicken was all white meat. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the pork egg roll was crispy and had a great flavor.
I learned you must put your order in on the phone before you come. And also like all other reviews you end up waiting 20min once you get there. It’s a long line and one woman at the counter.
You can take as many fortune cookies as you want but the humidity makes them super stale and they are not good.
The flavor of my dish was really on the sweet side. The noodles were even sweet. I had horrible indigestion the next morning.
When I’m in Florida and my family want Chinese this is the place to go to though, I tried some others and no place in the area has better American Chinese takeout. Dinner special is a great deal.

More take out than dine in restaurant. I only remember one table. Quick service. Bought Zodiac charms from wall in honor of lunar New Year 29 January 2025.
