We came down for a short one night stay to check the area out. We were so impressed and we were very impressed with this restaurant. Wow! The food is so good. Especially the cheese biscuit and the sweet potato biscuit. They are yummy and large. I even purchased three of each to bring home. The server was wonderful and very helpful to a first time customer. I’m looking forward to returning to this well run establishment.

We had breakfast here while visiting New Bern. The atmosphere was great. The food was wonderful and the service was excellent! Their cinnamon roll was delicious, and my eggs and bacon were cooked to perfection. I would definitely eat here again.

Went there to celebrate step daughters birthday, and everyone loved it. I’m not saying my husband is hard to please, but he can be a little picky at times, especially when it comes to food. I believe he got the Suburban, and I went with the chicken and waffles. Everything was on point. The waffles were so freaking amazing, and the crispy fried chicken strip covered in syrup is HEAVEN! This is a must go to place for anyone near the area. He ate all of his and was completely satisfied, which says a lot. We will definitely be going back soon!

Small wait for brunch as expected but the food made up for it. Meat lovers omelet has amazing smoked bacon and ham, and if you’re lucky, some of the meat will escape the omelet and if you just put that right on the signature Dutch potato’s….? Perfection!

The location was in a old school down town setting so taking a nice walk before or after eating here is a good idea. Had the “Suburban” (2 eggs, choice of breakfast meat, toast, grits, home fries or Baker’s Dutch potatoes) the French Toast, one of their Hugh Cinnamon Rolls, & a Cinnamon Cookie. Everything was cooked and tasted like your standard break. So worth the stop. Unfortunately the French toast looked fantastic but was lacking in some major flavor!? It was like the bread was just toasted and then some cinnamon sugar was sprinkled on top? There is also a pretty good selection of baked goods there and the two we had was pretty good. Katie, our waitress was on point especially considering how crowded it was.

Apparently there are two Baker’s and we went to the wrong one. The other is also 45 minutes away from this one.

I have never had a bad experience here. If you get pancakes, they give you something called butter syrup which I’ve never seen anywhere else but it is amazing. You don’t miss the maple syrup at all. (But I’m betting they have that if it’s what you really want.) A good indicator of a breakfast diner’s quality is if I order extra crispy bacon and they bring it to me extra crispy the first time, then I know it’s a good place. This one is.

We’re relatively new to the area and figured we’d try this place out. Based on previous reviews it seemed pretty good and the pastries looked amazing. After we sat down a very lovely and nice waitress took our drink order; as she poured the orange juice from a gallon jug with no label I got nervous (I’ve had my share of cheap orange juice at hotels continental breakfast bars and this was the same). Sure enough it was awful, as well as the soggy bacon and frozen sausage patty. The grits were actually gritty like they put sand in them prior to the cooking process (if they even cooked them). The bacon and cheese omelet literally had zero cheese inside of it and a half melted slice of pre-packaged sandwich cheese thrown on the top. Nothing had salt or pepper, the fruit we got was literally mushed like they muddled it for a cocktail but changed their minds and gave it to us instead and the coffee was cold. Now I’m not one to complain; however, all 4 of our “meals” were awful. I spoke to the manager, who seemed to somewhat act like she cared but it was so busy I’m not sure she had the time to. I told her I didn’t want any money back because I feel that me writing an honest review and never going back will hurt them worse than me losing $70 one time. Maybe the pastries are good based of their looks but then again we thought the rest of the food would be good to. Try it out and you decide but don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Hands down the best breakfast you can get anywhere. Great Food, huge portions and absolutely amazing service. I visited twice this weekend with friends and was impressed with the service provided by both Amy and Tina. The restaurant was extremely busy but they both treated us as though we were the only patrons in the place. The price was extremely reasonable as well.

Baker’s Kitchen is a favorite breakfast spot for me. Whenever I visit my mom in New Bern, we always make sure we go at least once. It is a popular place so you can always expect a wait and parking can be hard to find but it’s worth it. The food is delicious. The portions are big if you get the biscuits, waffles, French toast, & cinnamon rolls. They are very sharable. I can’t wait to go back again.
