Social Profile:

Built by Francis Baird in 1766, the tavern for many years was a welcoming destination for travelers. We are re-opening the tavern where patrons will be able to revel in its rich Colonial history and soak in the same atmosphere where George Washington “had a grog” in 1783 as he recorded in his diary.

A wonderful place to have a drink, the staff are friendly and the atmosphere hospital. The rooms have been extremely well restored. A cabinet sits full of Pewter mugs that you can sign up for – and have your name on it – for a small fee.

Beautiful historic tavern on main street in Warwick. The tavern has a rich history during colonial time period and was visited by George Washington. Inside the decor reflects this period and has plenty of seating areas in a variety of settings including outdoor seating. There were about 8 or so beers on tap when we went and the service was excellent. Will be visiting again when I’m in town.

Definitely worth a stop if you’re in town. This is an old historical home that’s been transformed into a bar. They’ve really done a fantastic job redesigning. It’s an interesting place to sit and absorb the decor. On a rainy night it’s not very busy at all. The bar is very basic but you’re really there for the setting. It looks like there’s a patio out back for brighter days.
